To commemorate the World War II Allied landings at Normandy, BRGC (http://www.berwyn.org) in Bowie will be hosting a D-Day Memorial Rifle Event on June 11, 2016, at 5 PM.
Berwyn is extending an invitation to any members of the Appleseed Instructor cadre to join us for this event. We will be hosting a centerfire-eligible Appleseed on that same day from 8:30 AM to 5 PM so we're hoping that we might be able to get some of the students to stick around for the D-Day shoot as well. We will have multiple relays as needed to accommodate the number of shooters.
The BRGC events allow combat rifles used by any combatant of the European theater during WWII. This is liberally interpreted to include older military repeaters from any combatant nation of WWII as well as rifles from neutral countries. Rifle fire will be at 100 yards and utilize prone, both rapid and slow-fire, and offhand/standing positions to engage silhouette targets.
We have sold out the one-day Project Appleseed event preceding the D-Day Shoot. ^:)^
The high score at the June 11 D-Day Memorial shoot was turned in by Julianne C, who made Rifleman at her first Ladyseed event last June.
Outstanding!! I hope that everyone who was able to attend gained from the experience.
