Started early Saturday with 7 shooters pre-registered and eager. Weather was cool, blessedly cool. Shooter roster shifted with people rotating out Sunday but new shooters coming in. Ultimately, 11 shooters braved the fine weather and sharpened their riflery skills and their appreciation of how the country started. Redcoat data showed us that some shooters were present and determined.
This event was unusual in that several pairs of shooters attended, taking a chance on the wisdom of the ages about not teaching your wife (or husband) to drive! Denee and Michael set the curve, but Robin and Karl were right beside them throughout, and on Sunday Shelbi and Mark joined in. Several of the exercises required pairing up, but not with someone you came with. Donna, Rodney, Patricia and Kevin made that possible. How possible? Two shooters re-qualified as Riflemen. But most remarkable of all, on Sunday new shooter Shelbi placed 4 of 5 shots on the 1.5inch star with sights carded. How on earth did she do that? Why, with her Natural Point of Aim!
Instructors Gunjunkie, JustKim and Shadeville did a heroic job, as 7 shooters had not been to Appleseed before. Applecore Tim managed to fill in wherever he thought necessary, and still managed to shoot both days as an example to all.
All in all, it was wonderful weather and a great couple days to be American!
