When was the last time Minnesota had 52 shooters pre-reg in a weekend?
I think one of the best ways to raise our spirits about this project is to see a full line. This weekend, we will see 3 lines in Minnesota that are looking pretty good!
We have a long road to continue down, but I wanted to let you know some things about this weekend that may help the heart....
- I only have access to data that goes back to 2013 but I did not find another April that had 52 shooters in it... in fact, I didn't find another MONTH that had 52 shooters in it.
- We are running 3 ranges currently with good staffing, SBs, IITs, RHs.... and we have a couple people to spare that can't work this weekend due to family issues. We have a great team!
- ALL of last year ran to a total of 165 shooters - we are turn around ~1/3 of that in ONE WEEKEND
And all of this while ammo is still expensive and .22LR ammo is still hard to find, but we are surviving, adapting, and we will overcome!
How are we doing it? YOUR EFFORTS!
- Libertysgirl is doing an AWESOME job running promo on Facebook and other social media platforms. Our average social media exposures has gone from ~60 per week to nearly 900 per week.
- FreedomV has been talking to ranges and getting Appleseed promo out to them for raffles and fund raisers. We make no dollars from this, but we get exposure, interest, and shooters. Pine Island, Eyota, Plainview and others are already taking advantage of this.
- We have been emailing county agencies, 4H groups, AMH, Scouts, and others all around the state to get the word out. We have also been contacting firearms stores to offer them free tickets for their employees to come and shoot. The new Scheels in Rochester is asking to have a special AS just for them in July/August. This could be a HUGE win for us in the region.
- We have Libertyseeds planned every month through the rest of the year.
- I know in my heart that every single person reading this has been 7th stepping galore.
Can we keep this up? You bet we can. We will have stumbles. We may still have shoots that have to be cancelled, but those set backs will be temporary. I can tell you that the efforts we are making now will take us forward into the future with a much stronger program. The more we expose the general public to who we are, the more successful we will be. These efforts, and those like them will help to build the program for the future.
