Title: Kinderhook, NY Sept 13-14, 2014 AAR
Post by: Barbie on September 15, 2014, 10:34:10 PM
What a great weekend spent with fellow Americans on the range!  We started the weekend off cold and wet, but everyone persevered and came back again to enjoy beautiful sunny warm weather on Sunday.  We had a total of 12 shooters who had the biggest variety of .22LR's I've ever seen on the line.  We had tube feds, bolt actions, semi autos, iron sights of every type, scopes, and to top it off, AR's, Garands, and a 1903 Springfield.

Congratulations to our new riflemen!
Don - 221
Matt - 227
Steve - 217
Phil - 217
Tom - 220

Also, congratulations to our requal!
Gunny - 231

And we can't forget our fun shoot winners!
Tom, Ed, and Stan

To all of our other shooters, you guys were getting pretty darn close to scoring at least a 210 on the AQT!  Keep up the hard work.  Ed, those progressive lenses are a beast to shoot with, and anyone who has 'em will agree!  Your standing scores on the AQT were great all throughout the weekend, it's just in seated/prone they became a problem.  Even with that, you still improved throughout the weekend!  We had a walk on Sunday morning who brought out a treat... lever action .38 special.  Speaking of treats, the continental Marines joined us in uniform on Saturday, setting the scene for the weekend!

As much fun as all the marksmanship and shooting was, what is most important is how everyone was well attentive and seemed inspired by the history, heritage, and benedictions that were given throughout the weekend.  Take that to heart folks, and do our forefathers proud.  Become active citizens of this country, and don't let our god given rights and liberties they fought for fall aside.

See you on the trail,
Barb

What a wonderful weekend.  ^:)^ ^:)^

What a fantastic group of shooters. Everyone who came was ready to learn not only about shooting a rifle, but about our history. And for those who did not score riflemen, I know you'll get it next time.

Thanks Don for letting me shoot your M1 Grand. It was an incredible experience.

When I read that I said the same to myself.
For those who don't know Gunny he's not happy with a 249.
He's already shot 250!

Sup Gunny? ;D

That was just the first requal of the weekend for Gunny.  I believe he topped out at 245/249... something like that. Excellent shooting  :---
