Title: Ankeny April 19th
Post by: Yankeedutch on April 05, 2014, 11:15:27 AM
We're celebrating Patriot's Day at the Ankeny Ikes on April 19th.
We've had some nice weather and, well, not so nice weather recently.  No worries, we will be there rain or shine!!
This is a Saturday only shoot and is limited to Rimfire or pistol caliber rifles only.

Please respond to this post or send me a PM if you have any questions.  We may have some loaner rifles, but please check with us first.

Who will be there?

Looking forward to seeing you all,
Dave

We had a question if a pistol caliber carbine was OK to use.
This has been approved.  The initial post will be updated to reflect this.

I got some trigger time in at the Ankeny range today and took the opportunity to clean up the trash in Bay 2.  Mud was a problem but there is no additional rain in the forecast so we should be in good shape for Saturday.

Thanks Reload, I sure appreciate it.
Look forward to you making ragged hole on the targets on Saturday.
You should be shootin' lights out with the way you've been practicing.

I'll try to get out over the next few days to get things set up.

Looks like Shenandoah has another signed up.
We have 12 at Ankeny so far.
Still time to sign up for either event.
We also welcome walk-ons. Try to be there by 8:00 am.

We still have loaner rifles available.  This is a good way to start,
with a proven and well setup rifle. Please let us know if you need one.

Can you believe it, the weather looks like it will be perfect...
72 and sunny!
Dave

Next shoots for Iowa will be Lenox and Dubuque May 10th.

Last year we were pounding our target line
stakes into frozen ground.
3 years ago we were shooting in the snow.

Many thanks to the cadre.  The marksmanship instruction was excellent and the history was inspiring!!!

And a special thanks to all the instructors that traveled from out of the State so we could advance the cause of liberty and the Appleseed story in central Iowa!  Huzzah!!!!  (Sorry about that Iowa gale..)
