Thoughts?

Spear point for developing "partnerships" with industry (assuming it's a task you don't want to undertake, yourself) is Brown.

techres is the source for "box cards" - AS inserts to be added to shipments made by cooperating industry partners.

    Hope this helps!

I can't imagine this hasn't all ready been posted else where but a search didn't turn anything up so here you go-

Colorado Public School Takes Students on a Field Trip to the Shooting Range
http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich/2014/03/20/colorado-school-takes-students-on-a-field-trip-to-the-shooting-range-n1812117

and Students at the shooting range for gun safety

http://www.krdo.com/news/students-at-the-shooting-range-for-gun-safety/25055098
How cool is that!

School officials in Pueblo County, Colorado are bucking the anti-gun trend and recently approved a field trip for middle school students to a local shooting range where they learned about gun safety and how to properly handle a firearm. The gun safety and marksman group Project Appleseed, an activity of The Revolutionary War Veterans Association, was brought in to instruct students, all of whom fired at the range with live ammunition. The trip was scheduled shortly after students learned about The Revolutionary War in their classrooms.

"We've never been allowed to bring actual real firearms into a school. Until this week. This is a very big deal. We had them touching fire arms, holding them and learning about how to handle them safely," Appleseed Instructor Elizabeth Blackwood told KRDO.

Here is the money quote from student Jonah Statezny, who went on the trip: "I think everyone should learn how to use a gun but learn how to use it properly, and the precautions you're supposed to take and how serious a gun really is."

I, with my cohost, do a podcast that is about guns, gear, preparedness and quite frequently talk about the greatness of Project Appleseed. My cohost got his patch at the first AS that he attended and is only waiting to attend another to take an orange hat We have recently had several listeners that attended Appleseeds and left with the coveted patch and one has recently taken an orange hat in Texas.
On April 19 we posted two shows that were from a two part interview that I did with Scout and have been two of our most downloaded shows. The link that follows will lead you to the shows if you want to listen

Saturday May 17th at a temporary range on a Christmas Tree farm at Cheshire, Oregon we had a one day Appleseed shoot.  We had nine participates.  I thought the number rather small but the instructors, Griff Marshall (OR state cordinator) and Ben Edman thought the number alright and they came down to work with us.  They brought Ben's RV and parked it on the level on top of the hill and spent the night.  The activity began at 8:30 AM with each participate setting up on the firing line.  We had a mother/daughter (11 years old) team with another 11 year old boy with them, a pair of  young men unknown to the rest of us, a father/teen aged son pair, a single man, and an  80 year old man.
Our instructors were well versed, had great personalities, and presented themselves well.  Our day went with lessons on the Revolutionary War and shooting at prepared targets.  Exciting day and the climaxe was the AQT shoot with only one making the marksmanship patch.
The targets were of course 25 meters out but up an incline that was a problem for the old man and he finally quit and became an observer toward the end of the day but he still participated with the instructors.
A great day, great companions, great weather and an all around great experience.  Look forward to doing it again.   ^:)^ ;)

Happy to post this link to the local newspaper in Effingham, IL. A nice little write up by the reporter, Jackson Adams.

Eye on the Revolutionary War (http://www.effinghamdailynews.com/news/local_news/article_eb34ba74-32d4-11e4-993c-0019bb2963f4.html)

QuoteFor many people, a trip to the gun range could be a chance to improve their skills, but for one group of shooters who descended on the Effingham County Sportsman's Club over the weekend, it's an opportunity to take part in the spirit of memory and rebellion of the original American soldiers.

The shoot was held by Project Appleseed, a group that focuses on rifle marksmanship as a way to salute the battles fought by militia men in the Revolutionary War.

The focus on much of that history comes down to the Battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775, where tensions between colonists and the British finally burst. Sharon Sabo, Southern Illinois coordinator for Project Appleseed, said the group's mission is to keep the memories of those colonial soldiers' skills and sacrifices alive.

The Effingham Sportsman's Club (http://www.funnemanfrontierarms.com/ecschomepage.html) had invited out the reporter so that he could get a first hand account of the Appleseed, and of the Range's support of events like this.

He also took this great pic of the line.

(http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/effinghamdailynews.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/5/93/59374bf4-32d5-11e4-876e-0019bb2963f4/54061778b6da7.image.jpg?resize=760%2C517)

Love all of those eyes and ears! Safety, safety, safety. An orange hat down giving personal instruction and the scanning eyes of an attentive red hat!

I especially like this part of the comment about their mother who also attended.

Quote
I think it's Pat.  Click on the pic to enlarge.  All five hits are in the 1" square.  Two years ago she had to retrain her body to use the left side. She owes part of her success to a year of shooting Ruger pistols, especially for e-Postal matches.

Wow! What an accomplishment.

We finally got to an Appleseed at the Cavalier Gun Club near Montpelier, VA.  It was everything I hoped it would be.  From the Shoot Boss (Wolfhound) down to the Instructors in Training, the shoot was conducted in an exemplary manner.  I will recommend the program to everyone I know and encourage them to make the commitment to attend.  The weather was cooperative in the main and my wife and I came away with a sense of relief that we are not the only ones with views that are espoused by the RWVA and Appleseed Volunteers.  I used a 10-22TD that functioned perfectly the entire shoot and I made the error of bringing another new 10-22 50th Anniversary edition that I had only fired two mags through.  That weapon suffered so many light strikes that the Shoot Boss graciously loaned us a 795 so we could continue.  During a break I replaced the hammer spring and fired a mag but as soon as we went back on it continued to FTF.  We used about 450 rounds each (less FTF's) of Norma Tac 22.  On the recommendations of others we picked up the Midway shooting mats that were on sale and were very pleased.  Even with the mats on tarps over gravel my wife had to use elbow pads as well.  If there were a way of "breaking in" the GI slings I would have done it as IMO they are not as user friendly when new.  All eight Ruger 10 round mags worked perfectly.  The tech sights never loosened although I had to make a front sight adjustment to the TD on Sunday after reassembly. There was really no need for the chairs we brought as the pace was quick and I never used my chair at all. This was very challenging for me as I am not at my physical best but had a sense of this being a "now or never" for me.  Mechanics of the instruction in Rifle Marksmanship are familiar to me but seem to have a "new" ring to folks younger than me.  There was nothing unfamiliar to me from my BCT in Ft. Jackson in 1973. The terms may have been slightly different and steps enumerated in a different way but there are no significant differences with the way Appleseed Marksmanship Training is conducted and the way the Army used to train soldiers in my experience.  In fact there were many poignant moments that took me back there. Historically the lessons were very good and detailed enough to present a decent picture of the events described.  If I had a suggestion to make, it might be to develop a curriculum that breaks out attendees to address other historical events of military significance from the Revolutionary War and present them to those attending their third or greater Appleseed.  I sensed a lot of restlessness and movement from those who had attended multiple events. Fresh material might enable attendees to regain focus at the end of a long day on the line.  In all a great experience and one my wife and I will remember.  We will attend again, Lord willing.   Thank you and be well.
