Buckeye, Arizona - Joe Foss Shooting Facility

Located in the Buckeye Hills Recreational Area just South of I-10 to the West of Phoenix, the recently built range, named after Medal of Honor recipient General Joseph Jacob "Joe" Foss, is one of Appleseed's mainstay ranges, typically hosting at least six Appleseeds per year.
Appleseeds are held on the "Medal of Honor" training range located just to the South of the main public range - continue on through the main range parking lot and after crossing the bridge at the far end, Appleseed parking is along the arroyo to the right. The concrete firing line is covered, but West-facing, so the line loses it's shade in the afternoon - bring a towel or something to cover your rifle between stages in hot weather, and bring sunscreen.
Directions:
From Interstate 10, approximately 30 miles West of Phoenix, take Exit 112 - (Hwy 85 South) approximately 10.5 miles to the Buckeye Recreation Area (Buckeye Hills Dr. on the right), entrance to the range is on the left about 250 yds in. Proceed all the way through to the "Medal of Honor Range" on the far South end of the parking lot.
Free primitive camping is available further West along Buckeye Hills Drive in the Buckeye Hills Recreation Area.

Flagstaff, Arizona - Northern Arizona Shooting Range

Appleseed range since 2013
Another recently opened range, NASR is located in the Coconino National Forest just South of I-40 to the East of Flagstaff. This is a great range for summer shooting in Arizona, running at least 30 degrees cooler than the rest of the state. It is at the end of a long dirt road however, that can get quite muddy and difficult in the rain, especially for low-clearance passenger cars. Drive with caution in any vehicle. The training range features a concrete, shaded firing line that faces NE.
Directions:
The Northern Arizona Shooting Range is located east of Flagstaff, south of the Winona Exit (#211) on I40. At the Winona exit, head south along USFS Road 82 for about 1.4 miles. At the junction of USFS Roads 82 and 128, take USFS Road 128 for about 3.8 miles to the junction of USFS Road 128A. Take USFS Road 128A to the Range.
USFS 82 is a residential road so please do not drive fast enough to raise dust. The speed limit signs have no relationship to the road conditions. If you see dust, slow down!
Unfortunately, Google maps and Mapquest WILL NOT work to get you to the range. DO NOT RELY ON YOUR NAVIGATION SYSTEM!!

Kingman, Arizona - 7 Mile Hill Range / Mohave Sportsman Club

One of Arizona's oldest ranges, the 7 Mile Hill Range just South of Kingman is Arizona Appleseed's premier range for KD shooting, whether for the KD portion of a standard Appleseed weekend, or a 3-Day Advanced KD Clinic. So if you want to shoot full-distance AQTs with your centerfire rifle, this is the one to attend. Firing lines face North by Northeast, and strong winds provide good wind-doping practice for KD shooting. Bring a good hat and sunscreen, there is some shade to be found, but not on any firing line.
Directions:
On I-40 West out of Kingman, take exit 44 toward Shinarump Dr/Oatman HWY, turn right onto Historic U.S. 66 W, in about 0.3 miles, turn left onto Co Hwy 10, in about 2 miles, turn right onto Walnut Creek Rd, which becomes Apache Rd. 0.5 miles to entrance to Seven Mile Hill Range.

Camping is allowed at the range with advance notice, and there are lots of hotels to choose from in Kingman, about 9 miles away.
Marana, Arizona - Marana Shooting Club

Located on the West side of I-10 just Northwest of Tucson, MSC has been around for a while, but is a fairly new venue for Appleseed. A majority of the population of the Tucson Metro area resides along the NW corridor, and the Marana Shooting Club is a great location to serve that community. MSC is also the place for KD events in Southern Arizona. There is shade, but not on the North-facing (and occasionally East-facing) firing line - hat, sunscreen, and something to cover your rifle with between stages is highly recommended.
Directions:
From I-10 Exit Avra Valley Road, proceed west on Avra Valley to Sanders Road (just past the Marana Airport), turn right (North) onto Sanders Road until you arrive at 11900 N. Sanders Road, marked with a MSC sign. Proceed East on the gravel road approximately 1.2 miles until you reach Marana Shooting Club outdoor range on the left.
Sierra Vista - Sierra Vista Shooting Range

Another of Arizona Appleseed's mainstay ranges, SVSR is located on the South side of S.R. 90 to the East of Sierra Vista, and serves the population of Southeast Arizona. All ranges face South, and some shoots are on a shaded concrete firing line, some are not - so again, hat, sunscreen, and something to cover your rifle with between stages is highly recommended.
Directions:
The Sierra Vista Shooting Range (SVSR) is located on State Route 90 thirteen miles east of Sierra Vista, on the way to Tombstone/Bisbee, between milepost 334 and 335. The range is 1.2 miles south on S. Sharpshooter Lane (a dirt road). The physical address is 3030 Highway 90, Sierra Vista, AZ. 85635.
Primitive camping is allowed on-sight with advance notice.
Young, Arizona
Appleseed range since 2012
Located on Highway 288 just outside of Young, this range - built on a former airstrip - is the central Arizona alternative for KD shooting, so bring your centerfire rifle. Much closer to the Phoenix area than Kingman, and typically at least 10-15 degrees cooler.
Directions:
Located off Highway 288. From the North, east .2 miles past the post office, and follow signs .2 miles to the range on the right. From the south, turn east after mile marker 308, follow signs .2 miles to the range on the right.
Primitive camping is nearby, local hotels are The Pleasant Valley Inn and The dead Broke Inn.
Phoenix, Arizona - Cowtown Range

Another brand new venue for Appleseed that has actually been around a while, Cowtown Range is a very cool and very rifle specialized private range just a few miles West of Ben Avery. Of course we'll be offering Appleseed weekends here, in either the North-facing 100yd bay or a West-facing 50yd bay; but this is also the home of Arizona Appleseed's new advanced UNknown Distance (UKD) events. Unlike a KD class with paper targets at 100yd intervals where there is more emphasis on learning about, and building dope on, your rifle/sight/ammo, and the opportunity to shoot several KDAQTs for a Rifleman patch - at this UKD, the primary emphasis will be on target identification in real-world conditions, ranging using a combination of multiple methods and building a range card, and working with a (and/or being an effective) spotter. (If you have not attended a KD yet, I would recommend that first before this UKD, but it is not prerequisite.)
The UKD firing line is on the crest of a ridge overlooking a deep ravine, with steel targets of random shape, elevation, and unknown but guessable size distributed on the far side and down the length of the ravine from 100yds to 1100yds, ranging from in-plain-sight to almost completely obscured by heavy natural concealment. And being in a ravine, lighting conditions change considerably throughout the day. This venue is designed specifically to simulate real-world desert shooting and challenge those practical field riflery skills.

Take I-17 North out of Phoenix, turn West on Carefree Highway past the Ben Avery range, turn South at the light (N. Lake Pleasant PKWY), then West again just past the little airstrip on Carefree Highway - yup, same name - and continue West all the way to the range at the end of that road.
