Title: NRA/Winchster Marksmanship Qualification Program.
Post by: Carlson on November 20, 2013, 09:40:11 PM
I recently took the Basic Pistol/CWP Class at MTFI in Three Forks.  The NRA Basic pistol course materials included the following brochure:

Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program (http://mqp.nra.org/documents/pdf/education/training/marksmanship/qualbook.pdf#page=4)

This program is Self Paced, and based on the Honor System.  Which means that we don't need to find an NRA Certified instructor to sign off on the progress.
I think I'm going to start working on some of the other disciplines that Appleseed doesn't cover.

Has anyone had any experience with this program?

I'm an NRA instructor and familiar with the program. Started it when I was about 12 in summer camp. It's changed a bit over time but still a great program. Yes it is on the honor system up to a point. That point is Distinguished Expert. It must be witnessed by an NRA member, not necessarily an instructor.
