Title: Shooting AQT with an LRB M14
Post by: Quinncannon on November 13, 2013, 08:12:38 PM
Recently a fellow Appleseeder questioned how well I could do with a centerfire on the AQT.

Shot one and only one AQT today at Vets Shooting Center.

Shot a 240! We can't always stick with .22's, after all they are just trainers for the real thing!

That's one hot CF irons target. Well done.

I just invested in some of that same ammo for my SAI Scout Squad.

It's good ammo, stocked up on it when it was only $150.00 for a thousand rounds...that should tell you how long ago that has been!

Let's meet down at Vets sometime, we'll shoot some AQT's and then shoot full distance! I have some full sized targets we'll place them at 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards, that'll be a lot of fun!

Wicked great score! I can't wait till I can get my M1 back out for a FDAQT. Right now, during hunting season, i'm reduced to driving Mama and the kids crazy with dry fire drills in the house....!@#)
I haven't broken the 230 barrier but I still have ammo, time to practice and persistance. Well I may have to go dig more up, ammo that is.....  :slap:

I'd say it's been a month or two :)

I need to get on the range and group some @ 100 to see how it does in my rifle.

I actually  shoot that SA surplus at the 200 and 300 line in High Power competition, I have found it is plenty accurate for those lines. I only reload for the 600 yard line and I use 168 SMK's on LC brass with 42 grains of IMR 4895, CCI 34 primers.

Had any troubles with your LRB? I get one or two failures-to-feed on just about every mag (all GI mags that work fine in my other M1a's).

No malfunctions in about 3,000 rounds, same goes for my other LRB. No malfunctions, ever.
