I will be shooting the Aqt red coats and other targets .I seen a lot of guest looking at oklahoma area.I offer you a chance to see what is to be done at a appleseed .I think you will walk away with a working knowledge of targets and time for each one.If you dont have a rifle I can give you one .Just buy a bulk pack of 22 lr and we can see where your at.I Say this once I am not a instructor just a guy that needs to shoot more so if noone shows I will shoot the targets myself..

I been told the shooters are coming from all over so you figure sometime after 1 or 2 if the gun line goes hot at 0800.But who knows might be alot of big time shooters seems we got the only big range around .Either way you call it I'll come runnin with stuff to play with .
I still might go and flip steel at the small bore range in my positions for awhile
0600 is going to come fast So I better go prepare for the fun thats too come....

Who said we couldn't have an AS? Pres Bob? Who's wild bill? I gotta get to know these folks.
Since we're getting some rcgc folks interested, we need to talk up AS every time we are around rcgc people.
We need to start going to monthly mtgs, grouping together & talking targets and drawing people in! I guarantee,
if we talk it up & get some interest going, it will happen! Not this year, but we need to get started now for 2009.
I should be up & moving in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to all of you at the range today .I know it was in the rain at first but it didnt stop either of you.I enjoyed the trip to the gun show today as well.Like I said I'm here for ya.....Seems the talks we had at the show were taken in by all ..The more we talk and shoot each weekend the more they will want to know as well..

This is true but the guy just took to this like a duck too water ..I am only giving them a goal to shoot for ....each weekend they get better and better....
Over come .....adapt.... and improvise these things make a better man ...but things only get better when you feel good about what your doing and they are doing great..remeber we all started somewhere...I knew it when I posted it that his form wasnt that great but for his first time he did better than most no rounds out of the black well placed shots all of them ....thanks guys

Well its thursday and its raining again lol .Today is your 48 hour warning order for the shooting of targets at the gun range this weekend.I have been setting up on the bench rest range by about 0900 .As for the last 4 weekends I have had many stop by to shoot or just talk.We have a few more weeks till the next boot camp or 2 day appleseed over at osage beach I hope a few of you try to make it to longshots event .So get a jump start on the bunch and come out and see just what your shooting skills are at this point..Each of the folks that have come have came a long way in just a few short hours.I would have to say their targets speak for them self's lol
The only thing you need to bring is a open mind a few rounds of 22lr and about 3 hours .We will start off shooting a few targets to see where your at.Once thats done you will see where we need to work towards.I have a rifle to use if you need one .Mine isnt the greats but it works for me lol..I do have a working knowlegde of the Appleseed program I wont go into the history at these shoots for I tend to leave that to the great story tellers of the appleseed staff noone can tell it like them....
So there you go bring your gear and your coffee mugs and lets do some shootin.And if your a lover of the ar or other 30 cal. dont worry I know alot about them too.Just bring the tools need to make sight adjustments for the shootin is done at 25 maters we might need to rezero some guns being most have 100 yard zero's .Its not much to adjust a ar from 100 to 25 but we are looking for a 4 MOA shot groups the tighter the better ...Well my info on here so call me up or email me I can meet anyone that doesnt have a code to get in .Hope to see some more new folks this weekend and the ladies are free so bring them to a AS might be the best time for them to learn to shoot.

Did I say we shoot rain or shine? Wasnt much shine today......The hurricane here lol ...So yes 4 hours of fixin targets and wringin out my cover.Thanks to the few that stayed and shot did we learn anything?Sure you did learned how to shoot in the rain for sure.After 500 rounds I think we all seen where we need to work .Standing its easy when the winds and rain fog up your stuff...Iron sight next time huh?
For the guys that took the packets with them all that stuff is right here just use the search box above and it should pop up.The AR guy the stuff you need is in the deals and steals section .If you need help finding the sight stuff just ask one of us .Like I said you'll get the right answer fast I promise..Dont forget too get the strap I think you seen what a major change it can give you.If you keep coming out on saturdays we can play around with the 200 yard stuff...After you left the range we took a few shoots at the 200 in the standing and I hit my target with all ten but I need to work out more felt like I was holdin a 2by 6

Today was a blast......I'm the worst with names but I think I will remeber this one..AMBER a small little lady that showed up with her mom and dad....Thier uncle was trying to show her the basic's And being who I am I saked her if I could show her a few things .Well she took the rifle he uncle gave her and was doing great once she seen what a follow through shot was she was off and running.While her dad was lookin on I asked them if I could take her off to the side and give her my rifle..Boy oh boy once she seen the sling and how to use it her mom said okay I think we need to go I guess a few hours of her nailing the steel was enough ..lol they say girls are better students I would have to agree first time at the range I was told ..So I sent her home with a packet of targets and a swat flyer.The dad and mom thanked me and that little girl walk to her truck with a smile ...Thanks Amber your welcome anytime to shoot my rifle your a great kid ....
Okay as for the other two guys I guess we did good too ..Nothing like hitting steel at 100 yards with a 22 lr ...I still cant remeber everybodys name yet but I think if we keep meeting up like this I'm bound too get them..And as for why we couldnt shoot the paper targets this weekend was the NRA bench huggers had it for the day Guess every 3rd saturday they need the whole range to punch holes in the paper from the bench..lol Nice rifles but its not my thing ....
One last thing I wish some of you others would come back to shoot the AQT some more..Please dont think the Appleseed is not for you we all started somewhere take what you know and add too them .We all have a way of shooting dont think just because someone knows more they are any better than you ... Hell I had a little girl shoot better than me And I just told her how and she ran with it and was nailing steel like she been doing it for years wow..... wow....With that being said put the ego down and belly up to the rifle and git it done..... I have lots of other stuff to show each one all you got to do is show up and be ready to learn .....

I have been asked to move our date to shoot from saturday to sunday next week.The reason is the the State of Oklahoma is holding a wildlife expo in guthrie there it will have all things shooting and hunting for free thats right free..They are in the 3rd year of this program I have gone each year at this event they shoot shotguns ,22, plet guns, and bows .The whole event is for 3 days from 8am to 6pm .If noones ever been its a great day of fun and games for the gun lovers of oklahoma...
This is a great chance at shown our colors at the event so wear your appleseed stuff and say hi if you run into a fellow appleseeder .We could all have a great time at the ranges shooting thier guns for free....So bring the whole crew I promies there's something for everyone......www.wildlifedepartment.com go sign up for the free john deer gator that bein givien away this year....

hiddy hooee all today is the day I pop off to say its THURSDAY.....And this is your warning order for this weekend...I will be there sunday at 9 or so if the gates workin right??? lol the boy scouts have been coming and going alot this week guess its the pow wow for the fall so if the gates are screwin up well call me I should be around the ranges somewhere .We did alot of shooting last weekend on the steel small bore range,, AS was in full effect lol sure was crazy to see 22lr hitting at 150 yards and spinning the steel ....
As I was told there shouldnt be anyone around the good range this sunday....Hope to see a few of your guys out there ..I need to shoot the AQT myself so if not its all mine...With only a few more weeks till Osage beach I hope to find a few that wants to split the gas on a ride over for the two day event my jeep[lift and 31's hunting buggy" just cost too much to try and drive myself.I heard a guy talk a few months back that he wanted to go so if your still around here I wouldnt mind fillin a seat for the 2 day shoot ..Oh one last thing walmart got fed 22lr bulk packs in the tulsa area might be a good time to get a few for less than 14 bucks...

Once again a fine weekend too shoot the AQT.....215 198 ?and 207 not bad after all the time spent on the standing it paid off.Saturday was a blast wish I had more stuff to hand out but I had to keep my pack light at this years wildlife Expo wow .....For the few that got some of my handouts the subjects are all there on this website ..The rifles are call LTR if you search the site it will have just about every make and model that we use for the AQT..Most of the rifles here can be made for less than 300.00 so go crazy and have fun ...
As for todays get together I think it went well..Not easy trying to shoot with black powder and cronographs and bench rifles filling the aiir with smoke. Dont think thats going too change if and when you get to a Appleseed shoot you can take that times 10 lol and yes the brass is still going to be flying too so be ready to feel the burn...I guess thats about it hope to see some old and new faces next weekend and if sunday works better for most just say something I dont have any prolem with doing saturday and sunday I need all the trigger time I can get...With that being said work on the step to a shot and npoa drills and the dry fire drill sheets are on here they are easy to do in a hallway or even in the living room if it at least long enough....I think if you all try to do these 3 times a week for 1 hour or so the sight picture will come alot faster on the range..Oh wall marts got 500 rounds for less than 14.00 might think about getting a few I always seem to burn up a brick each weekend..Till next time seeya later...

Well today is Friday and I've been in the woods this week so no warning order was givien....I will be there at about the same time as always seems the rain is coming in so dont think we will just stop shooting because of a little rain !!!!Hope to see some new and old faces ...I would have to say my shooting is getting better I put to a end of the corn thefts this year lol tree rats dont know what hit them..thanks to AS the frezzer got meat already .I guess they think just because its deer season they were safe ..lol tree rat stew coming up ..

Keep up the good work. I feel worthless, because right now I am, but I am on the slow mend. If we cannot get a shoot schedualed at rcgc, then I think I can approach a local police dept and maybe get their range, it would be a good economic package with hotels and lunch and all.

Okay all you tire kickers out there you heard it first right here .Our own law boys in blue are spouting off to say they might give up the range to gather on .......I had a whole weekend to get to meet PJ Evans and he is a great guy and ah ???I think he's a IIT with some great stuff to teach each of us..I my self am working on a place in northern oklahoma too shoot a event on the only thing is its in the middle of nowhere ville up by pondcreek oklahoma so the roads are sandy and nasty..... lol its a deer lease right now but its doable out to 300 or so. If we dont have cattle around might be further...But its a might?? the guy loves me alot ..lol should have married his daughter instead...
.Oh I was asked to come to the enid area next week to shoot a few AQT's if there is anyone in western oklahoma that wants a shoot over there just say something I would drive over and share my ideas and skills with them too..

With school being out for fall break it should be nice time to shoot ..I have 2 rifles to use both 22lr and your welcome to them..Like always bring a brick of shells and your ear plugs and we can learn some new skills this weekend.
I will be on the benchrest range unless the NRA guys are there??? I'm not hard to find just look for the guy shooting funny looking targets...And I will be the only one standing while I shoot ..lol

Well once again the NRA brench rest folks ran us off the range ..lol I think they are getting use to seeing a few of us ..But that didnt stop us yes there were a lot of things happening all around from 600 yard to the bench huggers.
As fior Appleseed training you see it only takes 25 yard and we can fit in on anyrange..lol So with that being said : Cody and granpa hope you enjoyed the packet and stickers we do this alot as you can see from this site we take all ages from the young to the very old ...I enjoyed showing you the LTR rifle idea .Sure makes shooting alot more fun huh?All those little tricks are on here .So think about a sling and a good scope or iron sights if you like.So now that you seen the shot gun news write ups that fred does hope you like what the appleseed has to offer your grand kids they shoot for free!!!! Cody you did well just have granpa saw that stock down ..lol

Today is Thursday and its time to say the shooting at the range is on Saturday .From 8 to when ever we will be shooting the AQT this is a chance to see what the targets are all about at the Appleseed event.Also there is a event being held at Osage beach Mo this weekend. That range is holding a IBC that will have the best instructors this area has to offer so if your looking to go ,this one would be the best..Many great folks will be there..
I will be at the range around 730 or so If you dont have a code to get in the range just call me I will be there too come to the gate.....I have 2 rifles to shoot thats if you dont have one just bring some 22lr shells and we can have some fun..the weather will be chilly .A coat would be a must with the lake wind effect we get there ..

Ok Guys, if you didn't make the Osage Beach Rifleman's Boot Camp, then there's another set up in the Republic of Texas for November 2-9 at Scout's Place. Its a fabulous facility complete with shower, and probably some of the best grub around. Camping is fantastic and there are nearby motels if you need them. Its all just down I-35 to Austin and half an hour east, good roads all the way.
If you cannot make the whole week, sign up and come to what you can. There will be a weekend Appleseed on the 8-9. Scout has it set up for a full-range AQT, out to at least 500 yards, and when I was there last I heard talk of making it to 600.
One of the best weeks I've ever had, good shooting, good food, good camping, great coffee, meeting like-minded folks that turn into good friends.
Fantastic trigger time!
Shooting is FUN! Reward yourself, have a good time with your Sons and Daughters while you still can.

I not going to say alot today my arms are sore and I over did it ..But what fun I had.. I worked on my own shooting short comings and the prone is apain when you realy use the 5 min's for the stage ...

I apologize again for being injured, its driving me nuts.
Now OG, you are doing a great job, "hammering out Riflemen on the anvil of the AQT".
Here's an idea, I'm sorry I'm not around to help, but you might want to give this a try.
Its not my idea, Fred came up with it, and it works out pretty well, something like this:
A Rifleman fires all his shots rapid fire, 3 seconds each.
Stage 4 starts out slung up, loaded, NPOA'd in, which leaves us with three NPOA shifts, so if things
go well it takes about the length of one shot to check and fix.
10 rounds X 3sec= 30seconds plus three NPOA shifts @ 3sec each = 39seconds.
Throw in a malfunction, a bad one, at 10 seconds = 49seconds.
Some fellers have to reload, so.....
Round it off to a minute.
WOW!!
Now, I like to check my NPOA before every shot, that's: 10 rounds (actually 9) X 3checks = 30sec.
Whenever I have troubles, as every shooter sometimes has, I check NPOA after every shot ( which really equates to checking before the next shot,
but I'm trying to get us more time here.....) = 30sec.
Add 'em up, that's 2 MINUTES!! which gives you 12seconds per round, quite a liberal time limit.
Now I've seed Fred start out at 3 minutes and work down to two, but that's just because he's a nice guy
who really just wants to buy everyone some ice cream....
Next time you're at an Appleseed, time the shooters, most are finished before three minutes, and MOST of the folks
that take a full five minutes are fussing their shots and not doing themselves any good at all.
Been there, done it, three minutes is way too much time once you are practiced in.
Two minutes will put your heart to beating fast fearing you might not make the time, but a few butterflies are
great practice for everyone.
Get into your Rifleman's Bubble, the Zone, and fire those rounds like a RIFLEMAN!
Now that sounds great as far as the NPOA goes....I think I'm going back to the range TODAY so I wont be dry firing my dog nutz....It was said before that the time is more than enuogh to fire the stage and it is..I am still trying to overcone my disability of steel in my legs and lower back.That makes for lots of pain while shooting ...But as time goes by I hope to be able to shoot the stages like all able bodied folks with in reason.lol my last appleseed killed me but I didnt whinneeee to much I didnt want to be shown up to much by our only rifleman that had far more injury's then myself ..
Dont worry to much about your recovery ..Plenty of time to shoot Besides we can get more folks ready by spring to go on the road to OKC for the Mini's that are needed..Till then I will go add too the Brass buckets at the range seems it takes me 4 hours to shoot 1100 rounds.lol

I went to the local gun club meeting and yes I was there to hear of the happenings of the meeting for this month . I got to talk my senator and he's all for our program So the D.C. boys will be talkin about us for sure seems he's on the armed service commitee lol so no tellin what might come of it ..I did offer him a spot on the next Oklahoma shoot being he's a gun lover....So I did my Appleseeding to my best ability...Oh boy a redneck with a story too tell..lmao I did my best...
Now for the best thing so far I got to meet a few that didnt know much about us ... Well I told the stories and gave out some stuff.I did answer alot of questions about Appleseed and what its all about..I hope you all enjoyed our talk ...
Now that I have a few more to add to my list of shooters on saturday..Let me say this welcome to the site if there is anything I can do to help any of youi just say something...We have some of the best folks you'll ever meet in this state and around this great land .As time goes by I hope you see just what we mean by saving this country one rifleman at a time...With your help it will go alot faster ..I'm the worst with names but the guys I met tonight were some stand up folks god bless you all...
So with that being said .I'm there every saturday and with a little time we can get those boys shooting like champ's. Dont worry about what rifle to shoot we shoot them all.lol and I do mean all types from 22lr to those old 1903 ..For those young men that I talked to tonight just give us a few Appleseeds and I promise you'll smoke those bench huggers at a 1000 next spring with iron sights...I think it would be great too see you boys count them 4 of them shoot the match with appleseed shirts and slings just smoke the old timers.. We will get you there promise ..Home schooled and all ....You will learn about history from us that was never even taught in everyday school history that will live in your hearts forever my friends...

ALRIGHT ITS THURSDAY AND ITS TIME TO GET THE TOYS OUT AND GET READY TO SHOOT.....
Looks like the NRA 22 rifles are are going to be shooting on the bench rest range so we might need to meet up over by the plinkin range there's plenty of room over there for us..I have two rifles that are up for grab's both 22lr so bring some shells and a pair of elbow pads the range got stone floors lol ouch..I will be workin on NPOA alot this time around so it would be good training for the ones that have a idea of whats going on so far with our shooting of targets..
Sure wish you guys would sign on and be a member but no rush you'll do it when your ready..I have the same email so keep using it to find me..I can text back on it the site wont let me answer it on my cell phone at this point but it might change soon as fred and his guys update the site all the time..
And for the boys you bring your center fire stuff we can still play with them on 1 inches drills ...Besides I would like to shoot that 1903 some more .lol

I just had some contact with the Marine Corp League, trying to get them interested.
I'll let you know if get an audience with them. They are a great bunch of guys and
very busy, too. It took a couple of years to set them up with a concealed carry class.
I offered the class for free right after the Sept 11 attack, and they never could get it set up.
After a couple of years trying I offered it for $20 and they flocked in!! I guess if something is
free its not worth much, but if you have to pay for it--its a steal ;D.
Ok I'm back from my 2 weeks in the woods seems I missed alot..lol wow But tagged out .. Thank you appleseed I made many great shots that 4MOA works well..
I will be at the Dec. 6 gun show in tulsa oklahoma maning a table from 4 to 6 stop by and share ..I made it on the radio with g gordy and seen that others followed suit later that week great stuff.....

Thanks Rawhide ....hope you got the class you needed many around tulsa area and all are great ...The radio show was a fluke to me I was in a deer blind listening to my XM radio when Mr. liddy was talking to the NRA guys and what they had to offer the public and I kinda ran over the NRA guys with what we do at a appleseed..He wanted to know who and how we do what we do for little money and make such a impact on the shooting world..All I could say was we are everyday folks trying to make a difference in the country by teaching history and marksmanship...I didnt think I would make it on air but we did My tounge was tied up on a few things about the project but it all came out okay..lol I did get alot of calls from other that listen too Mr. liddy and they too want to know more..
Okay now on too the shooting this weekend...I will be there at first light at red castle .I have two folks that need help with there new ar rifles .I will be in the club house going over the basic's on tear down cleaning and battle sight zero's of the ar platforms.
We will be doing some shooting once the sun warms up a little ..Just because the weather is getting colder isnt no reason to stop shooting the AQT.I will move the shooting time to the afternoon once I see the NRA bunch shooting times for the winter months..lol Seems we keep over lappin our range times to shoot targets..
Okay for the last thing we have one shoot in davilla ,TEAXAS dec 7 weekend and real soon we will have a range in kansas which is only 150 miles away so no reason to put it off any longer now...APRIL 19 should be on your mind and this is where we need to be that day I have room for one in my jeep for sure and I will be there for both days.....
After the shooting and training is done this week end I will be at the gun show manning a table for the Red Castle gun club .I will have some stuff to handout and talk about ...Please come by read the flyers and swat stuff I might bring a rifle or two to show ...LTR's come in all shapes and sizes ....

The Table is on the end one of the four ends of the show.They always have it there ??? Well did I say we shoot no matter what the weathers doing????lol Oh boy the winds were blowin hard......All in all things went well on the range....Next weeks shoot might be put off till the weather warms up seems 0800 is still a little cold ...I have plans on shooting in the afternoons on the weekends.
After the last gun show I seen alot of you that want to learn how to shoot that new rifle well we are the ones to teach you these skills..I know of one shoot thats coming up in less than 4 months in Kansas they have not posted the dates yet but its coming.April 19 is the date we need to be on the line somewhere in the country so why not Kansas .Its about the closest one around Oklahoma for now...
There are a few of us in this state that are willing to come to you ..All we need is a range or a safe spot with a good back stop .....Dont think you have to spend alot of money either alot of the tagets and skills are right here .Alot of great folks from this site have spent many hours on placing them in formats that anyone can use ...Belive me they are there and its just a click or two away...Even freds books are on here not complete but they are here...
One last thing do your self a favor ... DO YOUR HOME WORK ........READ EVERYTHING YOU CAN IT WILL ONLY HELP YOU ....

Okay its Thursday and its snowin and blowin but I plan to be there on Saturday afternoon after the 3 Gun Match at the USSA shooting school in tulsa.If you never been to one its held on the 3rd sat. of each month so come on out and play or just look around it the same place thats been on tv...lol If you look real hard at the tv spots you'll see me there standing around trying to soak it all up..lol Other than that we have a few shoots coming to oklahoma boyzzzz I cant let the LION out of the cage yet but its going to be close....Real close ....We are headed to texas to get our stuff ready to train so dont think its not going to happen and If theres someone that wants a shoot on thier ground just let us know things move fast .....And smooth as silk...thanks Scout for your help.. As of ten minutes ago I got a Email from the badlands range master!!!!!!!!!!!
He said someone has contacted him for the use of the range!!!!!!!!!!
And thats about all I Know at the time but Yes We are bound to hold a event At the Best place this state Has to offer.....YEEHAWWWW

well, i shot rifleman at my first appleseed in New Hampshire back in '07 and I have a signed slip from the instructor (Nickle on this forum), so technically I guess I am owed the patch already, but that was so long ago that in all fairness I probably ought to shoot it again to prove I've still got it!
Man, I would LOVE to shoot at a good 600 yard range, at least as soon as I get my new rifle -- I don't have anything but a Nagant that could shoot that far now, but I'm in the process of buying a DPMS LR-308. Oh well, I've always got the 10/22. I have a scope on it now, but I'm thinking about throwing some tac-sights apperture sights on it like they had on their .22s at the appleseed shoot i attended a year and a half ago. That would make it a little more fair for shooting the 25m AQT! Plus, it would simulate the sights on the DPMS a lot better (although its probably getting a scope as well as some flip up sights).
Lets see... Feb. 5 is a thursday... I don't have any classes on thursday (i'm in OU law school), but I may be working. i'll let you know. If i'm not working, I'll definitely be up for meeting at H&H.
Well alright you dont need nothing but a brick of 22lr I can let you use my gear no need to spend anything but the range fees for h&h...I have a docotors appt there so when its over I plan on shooting that day for a few hours and talk to the staff..Hey we have a shoot coming less than 60 miles of u??lol yep its coming so keep your ear to the ground the dozzzeeerrsss are workin as we speak...And it will be a soild place to play so tell your buddies we have a place to camp and shoot at soon..Seeya soon

Ok well here we go ..lol Today was a busy day i hope all that came up to me got a good taste of the program and all the things we talked about are right here to see......
I think the new laws and ammo shortages are sure waking you folks up and Your Not too late...lol And yes you can pretty much figure on seeing at a gun show unless I'm out shooting at a event ..With that being said the IDPA match was so much fun wow guess I need to get me one of those race guns now..And the guns show was a blast
Who needs a booth when you have so many offering a seat at their tables to talk to folks and go over shooting skills seems most are walking sponges anymore..Thanks guys sure is nice to feel welcome in the sea of gun buyers looking for the biggest badest AR out there..And yes when it warms up for you come on out ..It was only 32 with a 10mph wind blowin But I still had a few to burn up 550 rounds while nipping out the black on the AQT...You'll thankme later when you dont have all the cold weather gear on and it sunny and nice out .Your time spent sahooting now will only shine bright on April 19th this year trust me.....So keep Kansas in mind we need to show up and take the range over ..lol I dont think they will mind oh let put on more thing into the mix ..At the Kansas shoot it looks like it might just have targets out too say 400??? yep longrange shooting for sunday oh boy get your shells now ..

April 19 in Kansas sounds good. I bet I can even drag a few buddies... I have a couple with SKSes, one with an AR, one with an M1A, and maybe one with an AK that might want to come... and I guess I know a guy with an M1 Carbine that might be persuaded to come out. The one with the AR likes to brag about qualifying "expert" in the Army, so we can put him to the test and see if he really has it or not! ;) Oh, and my new .308 AR ought to be here soon... just waiting on shipping. When it gets here, I might have to go stretch its legs out on that 600 yard range with you. Its this bad boy right here:

oh, and there's a gun show in OKC this weekend... I know they're usually small in the City, but every gun show I've been to since the election has been packed, including a couple of smaller ones in Tulsa, so its probably worth making an appearance at. Even with the high prices, i found deals at both of those smaller shows. Anyway, now might be the time to stock up on .308 with all the inflation that's about to hit from the unending printing of paper money by those idiots in Washington. i've heard good things about the Russian Silver Bear stuff... a case of that might be a good investment.
Well you have that right something is happening real close to you ..lol So start getting things ready....I dont know just when we will post the dates or the location but its about finished....

I will be in the OKC area on feb 5 at about 1200 or there after at H&H range to shoot some targets ...If you dont have a rifle I think I can bring a few to shoot.All you need is a 22lr brick of ammo...Just look for a guy with a Appleseed shirt on and standing on the line shooting a funny looking target....

Well today was a blast WOW...We have a rifleman that knows what he is about...I spent the day in OKC with a few folks and I had a great time ..H&H was a great host we had to find the range master to get the go ahead on our style of shooting and once we did get his blessing the shoot was on..Seems they dont allow prone or sittng firing But after they seen us standing there and dropping rounds on AQT's and seen What a rifleman is all about they cut us loose on the range to do our thing,Thank you Sir .....So we dropped to the ground and got to work..I am the wosrt with names and I am At a y fy cafe doing this but We have a rifleman that got lost a few years back and he sounded off to say I want to shoot again..WOW this guy hasnt shoot in 2 years and I had a lot of fun watching him show me what he learned from nickle back then ..WOW he retained alot not much I had to help him with so It was a refresher course of fire for him and the red coats didnt have a chance with him on the line...Seeya soon guy go find a date thats good for you and bring those buddy's with you we will have fun for sure...

Hey oldgrunt, it was nice meeting you too. I am also terrible with names, so I'll just have to refer to you by your screen name if you don't mind! as for me, my screen name is what people call me in real life too, so its all good. Anyway, Thanks for the refresher in marksmanship. It was definitely a blast, and I really did need to go shooting with someone who knows his stuff to get back in the groove. We'll definitely have to do it again soon. Maybe we can play with the big guns next time? I found out my .308 is actually getting here next Tuesday, so I might want to go play next weekend.

It would be REALLY awesome if we could do something at the Badlands range sometime between March 14 through the 22, because that is spring break at both OU and OSU. I have a buddy at OSU I always go camping with on break... he is a new SKS owner and needs to be schooled in the ways of the rifleman! I'm sure I could get several other people as well if we did something over break, especially if it was on a weekend (which I assume it would be). The only issue is that a couple of my gun buddies are in the National Guard, and it always seems like their big once a year drill thingy happens on spring break. Anyway, lets pick out a date, and I'll rally the troops! I guarantee you my ass will be there whenever we decide to have it!
Working it and if we do the tickets are good for the events this one or the april 19 dates ..Its nothing but a phone call to switch the dates and its done!!!!...I have been talking to my boss and he realy wants to hold a event in march so cross your fingers and tell the boyzzzz we can campout there if the crew wants tooo....U might want to hit the shotgun and rifles teams at both schools they would get alot out of this.....

Outstanding I would love to see them aswell ..I got to see them in a drill at the football game those O3A3 were so pretty and the kiddo's knew just what they were holding....I might try to sway a few of them to the army if I got anthing to do with it.....lol Great bunch of kids I will still stand by my offer from last year to take a few of them to my range and turnem loose on a good range..I have two 22lr and a few sniper rifles ..All they need is 22lr shells and 308 to play ...

As for the shooting of targets for this weekend .I will be at Red Castle after 1300 on Saturday and should be near the bench rest tables laying on the ground....Theres no gun show this weekend so I hope a few of you come on out to play only a few more weeks and it time to hit the road..I wont be around from FEB22 TO MAR2 So dont sit on the couch to long or the target shooting will pass you by....If any of you ever want to come to Tulsa we can meet up and shoot or take a tour of some of the ranges thats been seen on The Outdoor Channels ..Many gun shows....We do have alot of cool ranges in this city...If they shoot it then we have it from cowboy to IDPA...

I talked to a few buddies about the badlands shoot in March, and they are excited! Camping out down there would be great... we were actually hoping we would be able to do that. So what's the price going to be for this? since its kind of a "practice run" for the one in April, is it free?
btw, my .308 DPMS came in yesterday, and it looks like its gonna be one mean SOB. I already ordered a one-piece mount and a burris scope for it, as well as a black m1 sling and a few extra mags. I picked up 300 rounds of .308 at the gun show last weekend, so I'll be ready to take her out to a range and get sighted in as soon as that scope and mount get here.
I will look into the cost but its still a full meal deal as far as the targets and staff no short cuts here ..But it for the 2nd weekend as it stands ......And the bunk house is 10 a night I will update as things come in .......Hench you got a small head right???U need to try that orange hat on so I can make sure its peanut size I will bring my sewing kit to take it in..lol Look for my boss to say something soon..Talked to him today and he asured me that its a go ...

The 2nd weekend in March would be perfect. I have 3 or 4 buddies that are down if we do it then. The price is no big deal -- we're coming no matter what. Let me tell you, the guys I'm bringing are really cut out for this organization -- I think they will probably be hooked once they see what Appleseed is all about. Some of them are some pretty damn good shots too -- a couple are in the National Guard and already scored Expert on the "real" AQT, but I'll bet you anything they'll be even better shots after an Appleseed (I doubt I'll have any takers on that bet). One of the NG guys had actually heard about the RWVA before... apparently the Guard taught them some of our techniques in a presentation at some point. Woo hoo, I'm already putting together a shooting jacket to get ready! I picked up an ACU top at the last gun show for 6 bucks -- it already has the elbow pouches and everything.
Man, I want to shoot that AR too! You should see the friggin barrel on that thing -- it looks normal, but under the handguards it is WAY bigger. I guess it could stand to be a little lighter (the gun is definitely a bit heavier than my buddy's M1A or your FAL), but it isn't too bad. It'll get the job done, that's for damn sure.

As for me, I've been doing a little shooting too. I drug a couple friends out a couple weeks ago to sight in their .22s to get ready for the Badlands shoot. I also did some more shooting at H&H. Shot up a bunch of redcoats and a couple AQTs. Looks like I'm shooting Expert again... All I needed was a little practice! I also found a good free shooting range in the Stillwater area that we could probably do an event at if we wanted. It is at the Pawnee City Lake, there in Pawnee. It is a 200 yard range. Nothing fancy, just a field with a big backstop, but it works and its free.

Today is the day I like to come here and offer to shoot targets on Saturdays......I have been away for the past few weeks long story short Iam a IIT and I have a few new skills to share..lol
next weekend I will be in Grandfeild at a Appleseed shoot the dates are posted on here so go sign up.We have the Badlands tactical school for two dates March 14 and 15 and then the April 18 and 19 .Should be fun I have had alot of calls asking about the shoot Seems the folks here are fired up about it and they should be..Bring the kids guys and if you cant stand just watching them i'm sure we can find a few loaner rifles for you to shoot too...If any of you can bring some more bulk packs of 22 I bet you'll sell them too seems the ammo running short in this state.......

Okay short and sweet ......................We will be at the grandfield location thats at the Badlands training grounds..I will be at Red Castle next weekend so for you that have called me up why dont we try to meet up next saturday...There's a big time IDPA event on saturday aswell so If you would like to see how that games played I will be there Just look for the guys wearing Appleseed shirts....We are popping up everywhere in the shooting world lol...I love the looks in thier eyes when they say sure I can clean your red coat paper ..NOT lol

Today is Thursday and its time to go to the range......So on Saturday at the same place I'm always at I will be shooting AQT's and other fun stuff...For the ones that have called me up I will come to the gate just buzz me...
So much has go on this week from rifle maint to shooting at other ranges .Henschemen send me those contacts and I will start on the paperwork..One last thing on the 27th I will be at H&H ...Thats in OKC off of 40 come on out..And if you look at the events list here in oklahoma you'll see we got stuff going on sign up and join in the fun.....Badlands was a blast we shot out to 1000 and hit with each rifle ...April 18 19 should be a event that will be great for all new and old seeya there....

Well its been a long road but as I said last winter !!!!!!!!things are going to pick up and fast.......And they have I havent had a weekend free to shoot my targets at the range but dont think for a sec.....that we have given up.LOL :~ :~At his point I'm well over 10000rds. as of far So shooting is happening...We have a shoot coming up this next Saturday and you look okay to just walk on to the range .SALLISAW is the place folks come on out and see just what your rifle and you can do... Thanks to all the ones that came out so far this year...I have been able to help over 150 folks since this all began less than a year ago and look forward to 100's more ..
And for the ones that have seen me at the matches and ranges across this state come over and say hi .I always keep a few AQT's and redcoats around lets go shoot .....This past week I have been at the 2009 tactical convention with the leaders in the industry and they all know that APPLESEED is in full effect ....Look for a spot on the outdoor channel soon And no TEDDY was not there But he was close..lol Micheal Baine{Shooting Gallery tv} wouldnt understand why teddy shoots with me so he stayed in the truck...

OKAY wow lots I wish I could say about whats gone on since the weathers been some what shooting weather ..lol lets just say its been Appleseed weather ..We have had a few great shoots so far this year I myself have been to 5 so far in the past 11 months..And yes we should have more coming closer to eastern and northern parts of okalhoma..I would ask for some off the IIT's start banging on doors and get us a few more sites around OKC ..I might have enough targets to shoot a few if we Need to be at H&H anytime soon..Mini is a strong POss..
As for shooting at red castle I will be there about the same time as always..Saturdays at the range are fun to shoot and see .I have a few rifles to loan if need be just bring the 22lr ammo and your set.Both have scopes and good mags so I think they will run fine..If any of you are around the Tulsa area you might want to try some of the other shooting events PM for more info....They all agree APPLESEED shooting gets you way ahead of the game ...As the guy said "We put rounds on target You guys put rounds on target where you aim too.... "4 MOA isn't rocket science but it is as easy as watchin a 7 year old do it HUH!!! Eathan... Okay thats it we have a few events that are within a few hundred in oklahoma and Kansas or even in the Ozarks ..They have boot camps 3 days schools and alot of Appleseeds too.Well look for more sites to open up before the fall.I will have flyers and other things about Appleseed with me at the range feel free to stop by saturday..seeya soon ITT's get your PC's done I need them Yes that you guyzz down there in OKC lol ..
I dont always talk about the shooting we do on the weekends but this weekend wasnt the same ole thing .....Sure I had a few come out and thats always great .But two dad and son teams drove up.....And the first ones were well on the way to riflemen and with alittle more time they will be there look out yellville they are getting ready for ya and they even said that canjun lands on way to the trip they were takin so count on two folks coming to rep oklahoma there in LA>for sure!!!!! hang in there folks I got a shoot in Tulsa coming real soon ..Real soon !!!!! Now for the realy cool thing As we were shooting our red coats and pickin away at squares and AQT's I saw a dad and son plopp down across the road on the 600 yard line .And at first I didnt give much to it but then!!!!!>>>>.....I do mean right then I saw a dad lay down and looking at the son help him follow the 6 steps???!!!Na I just didnt see that had to be dumb luck so I turned away to shoot a few more times..Well I looked back and the kid was still at it shooting and he kept nailing the steel way out there .So I dipped over and sure enough the kid was slug up had the leg up and was in the bubble ....I ggiiggled and went back to my rifle.well they drove down range and set the targets up for round two of the shooting they were doing.They ended up Being Appleseeders that just came back from the Oxford shoot and was told that oldgrunt might be there in Tulsa and sure enough I was like always ..I loved the fact that the boy was sporting his new t shirt on the main gun line sling lead .While cough cough choke the NRA paper guys were sighting in rifles from bags and bi pods lolololll...So yes this was a better weekend for get together shooting in a while...I hope to see you all at a shoot real soon seems yellville is where alot feel like going ..Goat lady's place we all said sure sounds like a deal to me. HMMM ..And its only May wonder what the next 7 months are going to bring..More shooting for sure .Okay thats it I will be back next week with plans of doing it all over again so for you that are chasing the score of 210 might aswell shoot afew soon .I will be, Its one thing to teach it ..but feels a whole lot better when you can still do it.Seeya all real soon

Ok its friday the big weekend at the range ...At red castle the folks there are having a party so I think we should skip this weekends shooting of targets.I will be at the next gun show in tulsa so if you have anything pressing about Appleseed come on out and ask me ...One other thing I still have a ammo box with a few ar mags and a round or two in the box so plzzzzz someone contact me about them I hate hauling them from shoot to shoot with the hope the owners will claim them..And that goes for anyone else that leave things behind contact us we might have your gear sitting around..
We are having a few shoots this next month .....from Osage beach to Oxford..At the Oxford shoot Dinky our traveling red hat is going to be telling stories and showing how to shoot well.So dont miss out on a great time..Boy if I could get away with just showing up and shooting i would but the cats out of the bag on me so no chance of me sneakin in on a shoot around here..lol ohwell at least teddy will be there to help me out ...
Cant think of much else other than let us not forget why we have this weekend to enjoy family and friends.....Its because some soul gave a part of his or her life to stand in the gap for freedom.....Will you remeber them? They did for you so long ago and even today someones mom or dad isnt home they are standing for the freedom you enjoy....So when you see that flag this weekend take so time and say thank you ..And if your a x service memeber go ahead and saulte the flag its our right to do so .....So pop that right hand up and let the brothers that have fallen for it know you still have a heart and will always stand for freedom....No mission too dificult ..no scarifice to great..Duty first......
