Title: Myakka Event! (Manatee Gun and Archery Club)
Post by: PHenry on August 27, 2008, 06:12:49 PM

This is Florida right? The state that is the model for all pro-2A legislation right?

Then hows come there are only three registered for the Myakka event on November 1st and 2nd???   >:(

Say it ain't so! The weather will be cooler - the instructors even cooler than that!   8)  8)  8)

I must need new glasses - lemme check the numbers agin.................Aaaagggghhhhhhh! It's true - there are only three Patriots in Florida this November! Man, should they feel proud - the three of them. Standing nearly alone on the Liberty Line! Probably a single - mom and pop and kid.

Are we Floridians gonna let them have that whole covered line all to themselves - to bask in the glory - just the three of them? They'll be crowing for years about how they were the only REAL Americans in Florida on November or 2008!

I am attaching a flier for this event right here. Who's gonna be American enough to print it out and get copies made, then post them all over your local area?

This patriotic family needs some company - even if just to keep their heads from swelling!   ;D

PM me if you need any hep getting the fliers printed or suggestions on where / how to git them posted. We jist gotta get more than three on that line in November!

I can't think of a better way to spend that weekend. It only makes sense to attend a 2nd AS less than a month after my first at Hernando.  ;D

We gots us a three alarmer in Myakka (Manatee)! (that would be "southinthemouth" for eeemergenceee)

We need some BOTG (boots on the ground) in the Manatee area to distribute promo materials and fliers for the upcoming Nov. 1st. & 2nd. event at the Manatee Gun and Archery Club.

I can ship any good man or woman who is willin' to step up for Lady Liberty, some of the super-slick SWAT mag. re-prints and fliers for this event. We need to git a stack to the club and get them on-board with promo efforts right away.

I will contact the range, but as I don't know specifically who to speak to - it would not be as effective as having a member or club officer involved. So if anyone in that area knows who to call - please PM  me ASAP. Should be easy - as the club has already told us they like what we do!

Up at Hernando, we are nearly sold-out and I have to give a lot of credit for that to Mark Rials from the Hernando Sportsman's Club, as he has done a great deal to get the word out - even getting a notice in the club's news letter! He posted pics and fliers - he lobbied the BOD on Appleseeds behalf and has generally just been a great "ambassador" for our program from the git-go. An honorable mention to Diane also, as she was the one that got me in touch with Mark initially. This just goes to show how important club members can be to an event.

Times a wastin' and the water is pourin' in - we need to git that event sold out, so that we can get more bailin' goin' on here in Florida!  :o

I just got in touch with a fellow from Manatee Gun and Archery Club. He was our club RO at the last event. He even did a little shooting with us once he saw how safe an Appleseed line is!

He is checking with the BOD to see if he can place some fliers out at the club for us.

Now I need someone to get some promo materials out to the local gun shops, gun shows, other ranges, 4H, Boy Scouts, laundromats, flea markets, convenient stores, hardware stores, Condo clubhouse bulletin boards, garage sales, College campus event boards, forum postings, deli counters, sandwich shops, Rotary Club breakfasts, Chamber of Commerce, popular street corners, couches, and any other place that a Liberty-loving American might be found!

Lady Liberty needs you!

PM me - I will send you fliers and SWAT re-prints.
I will say thank you - twice.
I will think well of you when you are not around.
I will speak well about you when you are not around.
I will defend your honor if others speak ill of you.
I will buy you a soda if you are thirsty.
Man, this is a tough crowd!
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well, I finally got hooked up with the Range Master at Manatee (Gene Pitts - heck of a nice guy!).

He has ordered a porta john for us and will have it placed right there next to our range 'cause we have a week's worth of marksmanship training to git done in two days and that leaves little time for walkin' to the bathroom!

He's working on getting a small berm moved to make the range mo Appleseed friendly too!

Looks like we'll be on our own for chow - so bring your lunch, snacks and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Sure, the RWVA instructors will be turnin' the firehose of marksmanship know-how on ya, but that'll only quench your thirst for shootin' straight - it won't help ya with the other kind!

The other instructors and I willst be arriving at dawn to git the line set up for all of the Patriotic Americans that care going to join us on the Liberty Line and practice the traditions of the Founders for two solid days!

So if you are not the glued to the couch type, who thinks that maintaining Liberty is someone else's job - show up at 8:AM sharp with a rifle that works and a teachable attitude and we'll send you away with the skills to shoot out to 500 yards!

I got one heck of a team lined up to do it - serious Americans every one of them, and they are going to give up their weekend just for you. The onliest pay we git is to see ya'll improve by leaps and bounds!

Let's show the rest of the nation what Floridians are made of - even you transplants!  :o

PHenry,
I didn't pre-register cause I wasn't sure if my eyesight problem was fixed.
It looks like I will be able to see (at least on one day) so I'll be there on Saturday.  Might have a couple of repeat customers with me; haven't invited any newbies since I didn't know until this week that I could go.

Rick,
Glad to have you buddy, and glad to hear that your eyes are at least not worse. I am in need of a new script myself and have not had the time to get to the eye doc.

As I have been recently "promoted", I will be running this one and will be glad to see a familiar face on the line.

I am realizing, with help from others, that Florida is in desperate need of some "seventh steppers". We need IITs, promotional help (Ambassadors), and someone to work on setting up venues, etc. I am trying to do it, but not am coming up woefully short frankly and that is hurting the Florida program.

We need to get some January events on the board and also some IBCs very soon to increase our instructor pool in order to keep up with growth and goals.

Owing to the holiday (and the 200++ kids  that I git at my door looking for treats), I along with several others will be arriving very early on Sat. AM to get the line and all else ready for the event.

We have better thab=n 25 pre-regs as of this AM - so it looks like it will be a great event.

See you soon!

Thanks,
PH
