Opportunity to return thanks to Hazelwood Cabela's Store for their support of our Local Shoots.

and are descending on Cabela's for the Family Outdoor Adventure Day June 8 2013 from 9am to 3pm. We need AS volunteers to man the waiver booth for the Daisy BB Gun™ shoot.
Who: PROJECT APPLESEED® Volunteers who do not have an AS event planned and would like to spend a little piece of their weekend saving our Country.
We are also going to focus on telling the stories of Patriotic Young Children (PYC)'s - Short 2 - 5 minute stories told by young APPLESEED™ volunteers specifically about the sacrifices/contributions made by children during the Revolutionary War! So far we have RiflesNReins, KDCat and GooseGun - but we could certainly use more with such a large planned crowd.
What: Cabela's Family Outdoor Adventure Day
Specifically : Daisy BB Gun Range™ *
"Take Pride, It's A Daisy! Visit our inflatable BB Gun Range.
We will teach gun safety rules and marksmanship skills."
***Note***Project Appleseed® Volunteers will
not be instructing the above. Cable's supports our "Mission" and asked for our assistance near the Waiver Booth. This gives us the opportunity to speak with the Parents about our program while they are waiting for their turn to shoot.
It was also suggested we give 2-5 minute Histories about children during the Revolutionary War.
They are asking for our help! :sos:
Turn out last Fall was in the mid-2000 range over a 2 day period.

Why: We all know why - this is just the nature of what we do.
There will also be many other events for your Family to participate in. Brush off the Colorful Caps, shake the wrinkles out of the AS shirts, and come help return the assistance Cabela's has been showing us in the Midwest!

Please try to bring along any fliers you have for Missouri Weekends for the rest of the year. Cabela's will be providing additional copies of our flier, but we see this as an opportunity to promote the AS program in both states.

I see it starts at 9:00 do we need to get there early to help set up? I just received my orange hat last weekend and got all the manual printed today. I skimmed through it and didn't see the children section. Could you please point me in right direction? :sos:
I'll be putting out a few minute stories early next week.
This is new territory for all of us.

I can help out at Cabelas in Hazelwood Saturday. What should I do? Should I just show up? What time? 9:00 or before?
Hi all and thank you for Volunteering. The 7 young Patriot blurbs will be in your boxes by about 10 am. These were researched by young Appleseed Instructors for data.
The event last year at Cabela's was sort of like a "musical jam session". Everyone knew the same notes (History Places and People), but played the notes a little free form. That way a story about Suki Hart could be told to 10 year old Girl or her Mother while they waited in line with it being something they could each relate to.
I am looking forward to meeting each of you and seeing some of you again.

I suggest at the latest 8:30 am - This Cabela's has very good parking and is attached to a large shopping Mall. We will be there @ 8 am and most likely will be bring a Brown Bess / Daniel Morgan Shingle, Musket ball. Etc. If you have any of those types of items that you do not mind using to engage the Crowd it would be most welcome. Modern rifles not so much.
If you are bringing your Family remember a camera as the World Wild Life Center is bringing Raptors, there is an archery session, etc. Don't want to miss the chance for our young ones to have their own "meet and greet".
