You guys all just did so great. Please tell your friends... Not just about the shooting and the rifles, but tell some of the stories... If you're short on words, or it's all just a blur - start with your own. Tell someone YOUR story from this weekend...

Thank you to all who showed.
Thank you to all who worked.

I always look forward to teaching at Piru . It's a little slice of heaven tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city . It's also where I patched in and took my orange hat and later was made a red hat  . I've met some fine shooters and made some great friendships and had many laughs with people whom I've  met through appleseeding at Piru  , ribbing each other like schoolboys while also solemnly reflecting on the importance of what we do by paying homage to those who sacrificed their futures so that we could have one as a nation ,  as we tirelessly bail out some more of the water and try and relieve Mr Adams of his laments . We are the personification of Freedom and Liberty .

I also look forward to watching our shooters grow . Not just in numbers , but to watch their improvement and what they overcome rather than accomplish . As we overcome , we realize that there is no final destination but that we are on a journey which requires our attention at every step , lest we lose this perishable skill .
We had a great bunch this weekend!!!! A few returning shooters like Kevin , George , Carg and Willie .
Its always great to see you guys . Keep at it !!!!
Also shooter's Greg, Michelle , Ryan , the two Brians , all doing exceptionally well by Sunday Afternoon ....I admire your tenacity and resolve.
The two lads Linus and Taurus were great to work with and did really well over the weekend .
Yuki keep working on that breathing and you'll get that score soon . John , I definitely want to see you back on the line real soon ..keep at it brother.
The diference between the shooters first thing Sat morning and Sunday was heartwarming  . You guys should be proud of your achievements and attitude towards this challenging course of instruction . I am proud that you stuck with it , laying in the dirt and dust , getting into positions which aren't the easiest on the body and  putting yourselves through the constant paces of instruction . You all looked like riflemen when I left Sunday . I hope you continue this and hope to see you all back on the trail .
Please go through the packets we gave you , everything we teach is in those packets and next time bring a friend .

Thanks to Gerry ,Steve , Pete and Johnny and V for making this yet another wonderful shoot.

It was a beautiful weekend at a great location.  I had a great time with an awesome group of people!  The thing that sits most in my mind is how completely professional the line looked during Sunday morning's redcoat.  Saturday morning we were just a group of shooters on the line but Sunday morning everyone was in great form and perfectly consistent.  You all looked like a professional rifle company lined up exactly the same and in great form.

Tauras, I think you paid more attention to the fundamentals when you were shooting with iron-sights than you were after you switched to optics.  I think your group size with the irons prove it.  I look forward to seeing you and Linas earning your Rifleman scores at your next AppleSeed.

Greg and Michelle, I look forward to seeing you guys in June in Piru.  Michelle, I'm so glad your experience was a positive one; you were shooting very well.

Yuki, you handled Pete's Garand like a pro!  With a bit more practice I see you earning your Rifleman patch.  I know your favorite color is purple.  The day you earn it, I'd like to hear you tell us the history and significance behind the purple patch.

Kevin, I've never seen a better ball and dummy exercise than yours.

I hope everyone enjoyed the teamwork drill when we organized into teams.  I don't think you all realized how well you were shooting during the teamwork drills.  Those small targets were very difficult shots and smaller than any of the targets in the AQT.  You were all hitting them consistently when you were just having fun and not focusing on scores.  There is a lesson to be learned there.

Pete, I know many enjoyed your generous offer to fire your Garand.  Beautiful rifle brother!

I look forward to seeing you guys again!  Remember what you have learned as well as the marksmanship training.

I only took a few pictures which you can see here (http://terryism.com/photos/Piru%20April%202013/index.html).

For those who wanted to know where I search the first edition history books www.abebooks.com (http://www.abebooks.com)

And if you need an expensive lesson in the names of the 13 Colonies, which everyone seemed to admit they did, try this (http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=8252082988&searchurl=bi%3Dh%26bsi%3D30%26fe%3Don%26kn%3Dapril%2B19%2B1775) (just to show there are some first editions we cannot afford to save - triage!)

See you all again on the trail and remember bring friends, bring enemies, bring anyone.

Cheers
V

Thanks to all who attended.

'Seems I came home with an extra sling and swivels... If you're missing one (and would like it back,) p.m. me!
