Title: Dallas/Fort Worth, TX - Jan 18-19, 2013
Post by: spitstickler on January 21, 2013, 10:44:47 PM
We started out the 2013 year in DFW with a full line of eager students and a good group of Instructors.  It was a little frosty starting out each day, but it warmed up nicely for us. As we went through all the points of instruction, saw great improvement throughout the weekend.  So much so that we had 3 first-time attendees score Rifleman this weekend.  Congratulations to JB, Marcus, and Luke for pulling off what few do!

As mentioned at the event, it usually takes folks an average of three AS weekends to shoot 210 or better. For those who haven't met that goal yet, remember a Rifleman persists! (...and dry-fires a lot :) )

A couple special things to note:  "Pete!" from Missouri was in the North Texas area and not only came out to Instruct, but also brought his friend Marcus to the event. Both guys are active Air Force as well. Thanks to both of you guys!

The Ashcraft crew was back out as well. David is a great Instructor and runs a tight ship. Zach shot a camera all Saturday and took some amazing pictures he's shared here: http://www.facebook.com/AppleseedTexas. He also confirmed that the video footage will soon be compiled and he expects nothing less than an Academy Award nomination on the final piece.  ;). Looking forward to seeing it, Zach!

I hope everyone had a memorable weekend, shares the experience with their friends and brings them when they come back.  Most of all, remember the choices that were made on our behalf as we make choices that will impact the future for our posterity.
