Just FYI I tried to search for events in NC using the dropdown menu and it returned zero results, but when I went on to the map, it showed the schedule. when you search for appleseed events, this is the link you get, not the map:

Also- are there no events in Charlotte this year?

The link you're using is an old one, maybe linked from another website?
Go to the main page on the website:

On the right hand side, under the facebook icon, is a U.S. map, click on it, then click on NC and you'll get a list of shoots. Nothing on the schedule right now for Charlotte right now though. Maybe later as I'm updating the schedule daily.
There will be 4 dates in Charlotte. There was an election this year for a new board of directors at the Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club and we are waiting for final approval before we post them. That meeting should take place January 28. The first date in Charlotte should be sometime in April. Sorry for the delay, but we will get them on the forum as soon as they are approved.

Ramseur, NC is less than 2 hours from Charlotte, and has many events posted.
Gaston, SC is also less than 2 hours from Charlotte:

They have February dates, if you don't want to wait for April.
Try them all, Charlotte, Ramseur, Gaston and others, then tell us about your experience!
There is an Appleseed in Ramseur Jan. 26th. Ramseur is RWVA's home range. We have a 500 yard range and allow centerfire rifles. Hope to see you there!
