Title: Ranges below the gnat line?
Post by: Ramblin' Wreck on October 23, 2012, 08:55:37 PM
Does anyone know of ranges South of Macon, below the gnat line, that we might approach about hosting an AS event? We're pretty well covered in North Georgia but Dublin and Macon are the farthest South we go. What's happening with the range in Hinesville owned by my buddy Gary Glemboski?

I'll be glad to call and follow up if somebody can point me in the right direction.

It's not much south of Macon, but: http://rpcrange.org/ (http://rpcrange.org/)

This is a training center and they may not be interested in someone else coming in, but it's worth asking: http://www.marksmanshipacademy.com/ (http://www.marksmanshipacademy.com/)

I've also forwarded this question to family members in the Tifton area.

Cool Acres is a 1000 yd range with pits in Swainsboro. The owner is supposedly receptive to holding a shoot. It would certainly be nice for a FD shoot or a KD clinic. I'll send contact info.

Here's the website: http://www.coolacressportingcamp.com/

There's also an 800 yard range in Pearson, GA. It's part of Parker's Gun Shop. An Appleseed attendee told me about this range but I don't know if anyone has approached the owner.

We have talked to Gary.  Just last month. He is very much on board. I think he is just waiting on paperwork. The name is called dorchester shooting preserve in liberty GA. We 'scar and scarlet' are stomping that 7th step as hard as we can. Any suggestions? Maybe pour a little more gas on the fire. Or get a bigger bucket to bail with? :wb:
