Title: AAR DFW Quail Creek, Jan 21-22nd
Post by: starfox on January 22, 2012, 10:51:32 PM
WOW.  What an amazing Appleseed this was.  Simply by the numbers will tell the tale:

6 (SIX!) New Riflemen
2 (TWO!) New Blue Hats
One new IIT (with likely a couple more to follow after some consideration)!
ONE NEW RED HAT!!!!!!!
ONE NEW GREEN HAT!!!!

We had chilly temps and a slightly soggy range for Saturday.  Marietta, a DIVA and one of the main reasons we have a DAR at DFW Quail Creek, took up the Orange Hat first thing.   Floyd led the majority of the instruction as part of his Red Hat test.  Everyone shot well and by the end of the day, we had three new Riflemen!  Congratulations to Bridget, Chris and Ford!

The second day saw three more Riflemen.  Congratulations to Jeremy, Kay, and Tim!!  We also saw Ashley formally taking up the Blue Hat (he shot Rifleman at the November Appleseed), and Jeremy also took up the Blue Hat.  Both will be helping us with promotions in the DFW area!  Floyd passed his Red Hat test with flying colors, and by the end of the weekend, spitstickler had earned his Shoot Boss wings!

Good weather, a dedicated range, and more importantly, open and dedicated shooters to listening to the story of their Heritage made this one of the most memorable Appleseed shoots in a long while.

Congrats to all our shooters and our instructor corps who is expanding and continue to set the bar by which all our instructors should be judged.  It is a privilege to serve with so many dedicated instructors, and to always have a great group of shooters at the premier DAR in North Texas!!

It was a great weekend for sure. Lots of new faces and a few familiars coming back for more. It was nice to see some personal friends of mine to come out as well. Thank you all for coming out and experiencing Appleseed. A hearty congratulations to all the new north Texas Riflemen! Job well done. There were a lot of folks knocking on the door. A little persistence and your goals will be achieved. I sure hope you all come back and see us (with friends in tow!)

Marietta, it is indeed a pleasure to have you step up and take the orange hat. You will be a great asset to DFW, Texas and the rest of Appleseed.

Ashley and Jeremy, thanks for taking up the blue hat and helping out as Applecore crew. We have more promotional opportunities that we can staff and your help is greatly appreciated.

Floyd - great job on running the show on Saturday. The instruction was obviously great as evidenced by the high number of patches handed out over the weekend.

Michael - You ran the line Sunday afternoon like a pro!

I am pleased to say that one of our Rifleman shooters from this event has decided to take up the orange hat.  So welcome Bridget to the ranks of the instructor corps.  As both a relatively new shooter and a lady shooter, she will bring a great perspective to our instructor corps.!
