Title: Lafayette Nov 5th

What a PERFECT day for an Appleseed. As we arrived setting up the range it was frost covered and just below 30. After the standard briefing's we got right to work on the morning redcoats.

by mid morning aafter some IMC lessons groups were starting to shrink and there were a lot of smiles. While we were a little short on total numbers the 7 that did show up gave their best effort and did see a LOT of improvement over the coarse of the day. Jabob,Daniel, and Benjamin all show great  skills and were very attentive when the history came.

We had one return Rifleman Dave who helped out with little bits of info and advice to some of the more novice shooters. Also had a new member to the shooting sport brett who listened and took the instruction very well.

Then came lunch time and the first and second strike from SPQR and HQ. everyone was very quiet and and you could see the look in their eyes as they made the connection to their past.

After lunch out came the AQT's and the one new rifleman of the group jacob. Way to go Jacob! Megan was so very close to making that magic 210 number and I am confident that if she did not have to deal with a Misfeed on stage 3 she would have made it. She is assuredly the type that will persevere and we will see her get that Rifleman patch yet.

by the late afternoon with the weather warming and the shooters being more active for the AQT's layers were coming off and everyone not only getting into the rythm but when we finished for the day there were even some disappointed that we could not continue shooting more AQT's. Will have to make sure they get signed up for another seed and get another chance at them!

The second Redcoat targets show GREAT improvement over the morning so everyone must have been taking some of the lessons to heart and putting them into practice.

Thanks Jared for opening up your range to use and Thanks to all of the shooters that got up off the couch and came out to learn their heritage. With 5 of the shooters being under 19 yrs old they have a lot of opportunities to continue down the appleseed trail and learn their Heritage.

Should have some pictures up by tonight or tomorrow!

It was a great day!  A tad chilly in the morning [more frost than I've seen yet this year. . .] - but it quickly warmed up and I very much enjoyed meeting and working with each and every one of you!  Hopefully I'll see you soon!
