As of right now we only have 2 pre-regs for this Appleseed. This just won't do. We need to work together and get this event promoted!! Anything you do please post it even if it is getting the event posted in a newspaper's community calendar or telling women at work. Whatever it is please post it so we know what has been done and what still needs to be done.
Last night I was talking with techres in the radio show chat room about promotions for this event and with Ewlad's help within 40 minutes they came up with a bunch of different women's groups in WI. I just started cutting and pasting everything they put down so that I wouldn't lose or forget any of them. As you will see the list is long, and not in any order, but if you do one of them, then let us know and I will cross it off the list.

I'm in and I'll be going to Lodi on Monday afternoon. Help me think of some things I can do while I am there.
I gave the YMCA leader the women-only Appleseed flyers to pass out to her group. She is ON BOARD and is working to get the weekend off work so she can attend.
RWVA has an invitation to speak at the Lodi (Kiwanis?). They meet on Wed's at noon. Colycat has the contact number, but has been working out of town during the week and hasn't set anything up with them yet. Chime in here if you could do the luncheon talk, and we could try to make that happen before the August 27-28 ladyseed.

I've got lots of homeschool contact info. However I will need to refresh it since it a bit out of date.
It's a strange process I have which creates 'csv' files which can be input to a mail client so that the process is automated.

Here is a freshly made list of email account for homeschooler organizations in Wisconsin. See attached.
I'll try and get this out using my email server but it's down right now. Waiting to see if the person that set it up can fix it. He usually takes a few days to get back with me.
Now we need a letter to send out. Maybe I can use some of the text from techres flyer. Let me know what y'all want to send.
Here is a letter to homeschoolers that I found on the forum, one that was written back on 2009. Let me know if this is the route we want to take with the letter and I can go in and change some of the wording, and make it a little more up to date.

Looks great! It's better to have less text and more pictures. People don't want to spend a lot of time reading, so if you can show more pictures and maybe add some captions to explain what's going on, that would be helpful.
I would like to suggest maybe adding a link, or two, somewhere on the page as to what the newcomer should do next. Register, read some other page? As a newbie, I felt a lot of disconnect in navigating the Appleseed pages as to what I should do next to get ready for Appleseed. I need to work a bit more on the top graphic also. The text LadySeed isn't centered well. Maybe a tad more red in the roses too.
Made buku changes to page. Most of it on the top 'logo' portion. That graphic design stuff can become very time consuming.
Added some links but don't have much description about what they are about yet. Some nice stuff my wife came up with about Women in the Revolutionary War at the bottom of the page. I added them so that I don't forget about it. Good links I believe. Will refine that portion.
Issue: Nowhere does the page describe what a LadySeed is. It doesn't say "A Ladyseed is an Appleseed Event for Women Only." Or some such description. So what would be a good description of just what a LadySeed is?
So need a word smith to describe what a LadySeed is so I can insert more text into the page.

Oh, and crud. I just now noticed there are a few formatting errors if you use Internet Exploder. That's a prob with doing the web. Looks great in Firefox but a few probs in Exploder. Will fix.

Email Server - The email server I've been using had died on me several weeks ago. I finally talked to the Texas RH who set it up for me. He said it should be working fine. So there is some type of connectivity problem going on.
I'll try and figure why I can't connect. Else I'll just send out the emails to homeschoolers manually.

I am back from Guatemala and ready to work on getting women to attend our LadySeed. I sent an e-mail today to the Wisconsin State Journal Outdoor Section to be listed in the Sunday Column.

I didn't even know there was a lady JPFO! Cool. My Grandmother, rest her soul, would have liked that. She knew about the 'Never Again' deal having come from Germany.

How many loaner rifles will you have there? When reaching out to homeschoolers this is important, most are interested, few have rifles. Sometimes they just need to try it and then they run right out and get one.

Trisha, it does take too long. Can you print it as a PDF instead of save it as a PDF? That will make it smaller. People will not read it because of the time it takes. Shoot, I gave up on it. See if somebody can print to PDF. I used to be able to, but my program expired.

1. Can we find a family pic that we know we have a photo waiver on? The one there I am not sure on. I used it in my mock up but have not used in a released flyer. Otherwise this looks pretty good.
2. Would a quick conference call help in getting some of this completed?
3. The biggest promo we need is person to person on the ground. Who do we have in the area that can do last minute flyers and handouts?

I was looking for a ladyseed flyer that can be posted at WinGunClub, Gander Mtn., Circus city sportsmen, etc. etc. that has range info, ladyseed info. Tri-fold only works if they open them, email only works if you open, and read, but hand out, or display an Ar-15 flyer, and they got to look at it. :)

1. The reason why I chose that family picture was because it was on our website under the teachers page.

Right, I get that, that is why I offered to make it into a one page document so it can just be put on the back of the AR-15 girl. My plan is just to use what tech put together already about women's ASs, so I won't have to reinvent the wheel. Does this work?
What ever you think will get them to the Ladyseed. Sorry, about the sense of urgency :D , but time has almost run out :-[ .

Here is what I came up with. I hope it is what you are looking for. I am hoping it is at least good enough to print on the back of the AR-15 girl for now, and if I need to tweak something for ladyseeds in other places, let me know.
Also, I wrote this like it was going to be printed off, so the register here part is more like directions on where to register, I hope that is ok.
