Title: AAR: Lodi Libertyseed June 8, 2011
Post by: LadyVetch on June 10, 2011, 10:57:22 AM
Wisconsin's FIRST Libertyseed was Wed June 8th.

I want to thank all of you that ventured out on what proved to be a very stormy night in Wisconsin.

And a special thank you to the Lodi Librians, Trisha and Kristine for promoting the night, helping set up the room and especially taking the time to attend our presentation.  I really appreciated their interest and support.

The night started out with the opening and 1st strike by ColyCat who did a wonderful job providing the background to April 19 and the events at Lexington.  And ColyCat had the distinction of being able to address the question of the day... Did Paul Revere warn the British? The answer was Yes.  He warned the Regulars that captured him, that the town of Lexington was waiting for them.

The 2nd strike by LadyVetch continued the events at Concord and especially highlightling Issac Davis and his wife Hannah and the sacrifices made not only by the men but by the women and families too.

The 3rd stike was told by Dragonfly who finally answered the question... Where and When did the Revolutionary War begin?  He also made us think by remembering the words of Isaac Davis:  Take good care of the children.

BellRinger then told the story of Hezikah Wyman - DEATH on a pale horse....  Anyone at any age can make a difference.

ColyCat finished the night reminding us of the sacrifices of the men who signed the Declaration of Independence and why Appleseed was founded and how they could help.

All in all, it was a great night sharing our heritage with fellow Americans.
