Title: AAR Lake George, NY, 7-8 May, 2011
Post by: nyrasgt on May 15, 2011, 08:29:17 PM
Pinch hitting for SB Spanner, who relayed directly to Burlington Flats RBC from Lake George.  Am sure more will be heard once he again attains cyber-range...
and (will only say this once) sorry for the delay in posting...

Was an outstanding weekend a few miles south of Lake George at Dunham's Bay Fish and Game Club, where Appleseed has been a significant number of times, including an IBC
in March of 2010 courtesy of crak, kDan, Buzzworth, and Firewall99, a crew that has since resulted in numerous Red and Green Hats (you know who you are).

Instructors:  Spanner-SB, RHs -  R1sgx2/Stick Mark and your humble servant, nyrasgt/madMark, and closing out the three Markeros, State Coord Mark -  AnotherDOM,
as well as one of NY's newest IITs, gregch44 (probably mangled forum name), Greg Chaplain, with his carpenter's tools and Really Big Truck.
Saturday:  seven attendees, including several returnees to Dunham's Bay's hospitable outdoor range (50 covered firing points) and clubhouse.  Other Saturday shooters included Joe, a paramedic, and his son Alex.
Sunday, again a total of seven, including two returnees from Saturday, Joe and either Ken or Dave (sorry, guys), as well as a family of four (Michael, Julie, Sierra, and Andrew) and a wife (Julie #2) being given Appleseed for Mother's Day by her husband, Zack.  They (Zack and J2) were babbysitter-limited, arriving around 1pm and having to leave early - but they'll be back..
The five newbies Sunday gave Greg an interesting challenge for his first Line Boss experience - since the line had to be split into three segments:  the two, second-day, second AS shooters, the family of four who had the benefit of the morning's re-briefing, and Julie 2, who was starting from scratch after lunch.  Everyone persisted, and Spanner  had ADOM tasked with getting Julie up to speed in an extremely limited time.

  Some data:  Sat AM Redcoat:  100 = 1, 200 = 1, 300 = 0, 400 = 0, Head shot = 0.
                      Sat PM Redcoat:  100 = 3, 200 = 2, 300 = 1, 400 = 0, Head shot = 0.
                      Sun AM Redcoat:  100 = 3, 200 = 2, 300 = 1, 400 = 0, HS = 2
                      Sun PM Redcoat:  100 = 2, 200 = 3, 300 = 0, 400 = 0,  HS = 1

In the process Saturday, intermittent rain showers kept things interesting; first Saturday shot went off @ 10:05am, leading to squares and talking targets.

I will return and add a Part II to this segmented AAR.

Excelsior,
madMark
