Title: Virginia Instructors Check-In
Post by: jmdavis on March 08, 2011, 04:03:10 PM
If you are a VA instructor or IIT, please check in here and let me know if you are willing to work events this year. I need to get a handle on who is active and who may be taking a Leave of Absence.

If you are not yet an instructor or IIT but are willing to join us either in that role or to help out administratively please identify yourself as well.

Mike, in a pinch, I might be able to help out.  I think some of the other members of the WV corps might be able to assist as well, should the need be there.  After all, you guys helped us quite a bit last year.  I'm sure many of us would be more than willing to return the favor.

All I can do is a part or maybe all of a day and it depends on the day.  I'll try to come to the close ones.

I'm ready to go.
I'll try for one a month, probably missing one or two when the schedule conflicts with my darlin' wife.

Alex,

I just have to find the right badge/patch.

How about a black star with an olive "Issac Davis" in the middle of it, for each sleeve.  Sort of a take on the Soviet Red star with the hammer and sickle. Some version of collar tab and hat band to go with it?  It should show up on a red hat and, knowing, Alex It should contrast Army ACUs as well.  Just saying.

That sounds great. But it needs to be Off the Shelf rather than custom. Of course I could always have name badges made for him that say "Commissar"

Custom work is possible.  I have access to specialists.  We really only need one Commissar so unique might be more valuable.

Anything from http://thepeoplescube.com/ (http://thepeoplescube.com/) would work.

Just so that we are on the same page, what Appleseed position do you refer to when you say Commissar?

Well, I can see the physical resemblance you have to "Red Square".  In your current employment, the mustache will have to be a "stick on".  Do you have a source for the hat?  It really makes the look.  I had imagined the usual Commissar activities: Keeping everyone on message, thinking right; long winded political lectures; and the occasional necessary political execution.  Why else would we need the position of Commissar? LOL

That sounds more of a SC/RC position.  Lets start with the shoot boss first.

Shootboss is another position. We do have to get you started on that path. I'm really busy next week, but let's talk the week after.

I think that giving long winded political speeches really is an important part of the role of commissar. But so is shooting lightweight .44 Magnums, flare guns, and other interesting firearms.

Hi, all.

Thought I'd posted this already, but I don't see it now. Apologies if it's a repeat.

I'm an IIT1 moving from San Francisco to NoVA in mid-Feb and I'd like to stay involved. Hoping to help out once the wife and I are settled in in March. I made Rifleman last year in Myakka, FL and took the Orange Hat in Sacramento this past fall. Looking forward to meeting my fellow AppleSeeders in VA and getting rid of these silly bullet-buttons!

Welcome to the Old Dominion!  If history is a guide, we won't have any events until after you are settled.   Keep  an eye on the Virginia page for details once the local clubs tell us when we can get on their schedules.  Remember that Maryland and DC are very gun unfriendly so plan on staying on the Virginia side of the border.  If you survived California, they may not be too much worse.

Hi, all.  Although more guilty of border-raiding into Maryland, still willing to help out in Commonweath...

Anytime our shoots are on non-Annapolis weekends, come on down.  We have a good time down here and you won't have to question yourself on what you can carry, like you must when crossing the Potomac into the PRM.
