Ok. So, per our con-call, we're going to try to get an Appleseed presence at all significant shooting matches in the state over the next few months.
So we can utilize this thread to:
1. Discover and post the match schedules for various disciplines at various ranges across the state.
2. Make contact with the club presidents of those ranges (we already have contacts in several large ranges) and obtain permission to set up tables.
3. Staff/schedule those tables with volunteers from the WV corps.
Currently, Mac and I are looking at covering the southwestern part of the state.
Chrome is going to cover the northern part, to include Mason-Dixon Rifle Club
We will find out who is the match coordinator this year for Beckley, and work with them. Chances are, I or Agony will know them.
Do we have any info about upcoming matches in our region yet?
Is anyone going to shoot at the matches? I know in the past some folks have shyed away (is that how you spell it??) from an appleseed instructor actually shooting a rifle from fear of poor performance hurting the "image" of the instructors. I never quite understood that but that opinion has been posted here prior.
I think shooting a match would be a way to demonstrate what appleseed teaches. Plus it makes sitting behind the table all afternoon worth it. @)

An awful lot of matches don't involve precision rifle. I'm going to an IDPA match Real Soon Now (a big one) and will be bringing a pile of Appleseed literature to it. It's going to be in Ashland, KY. If anyone (from WV, Ohio, or KY) wants to join me for some promotions help, let me know, and I'll get you details.

Do you have a date and club name for this one sig?

Coming soon.
This is unrelated to the Ashland match, but I know the Vice President of this particular club, and there's a chance he's Appleeed-friendly. Their events calender is here: http://www.putnamcountygunclub.org/images/pdfs/2011calendar.pdf
Myself and one or two IIT's are going to shoot Hipower at that little club in Putnam County this year. That is if my NM AR is ever finished! My Jeep is terminally full of AS "stuff". I know that guy that Siglite is speaking of. He knows pretty well what he is about. I don't think there will be any problem promoting AS at the shoots.
I have contacts in Ashland @ NEKFG. A bunch of WV-ians shoot there. A few of them plan on AS at NEKFG tho', since it is closer than the WV sites.
FYI,
If you want me to see any posts, I am only checking WV board and PM's for a while.

Welcome "home" Mac...sanctuary...wisdom... ;) That little club in Putnam sounds like a real prospect. :)
