Title: AAR Manheim PA Sept. 18-19, 2010
Post by: lprgcfrank on September 20, 2010, 01:44:00 PM
What a glorious weekend in America.  13 of the 15 folks preregistered came out and we were blessed to be joined by a family of 12 up from West Virginia that drove up for the day on Saturday!

Mal1970, CharlieW and Big H did a great job with the instruction, the heritange and running the line!  Great work guys!

We had a first here at Manheim, at 3pm, we took a break as our host club was hosting a wedding reception and the Bride and Groom rode horses from the tent where they were having their reception, past our firing line and down to the pond where they took pictures.  The club manager was not sure if rifle fire would spook the horses, and he wanted the bride and groom to have an uneventful ride  :D

Saturday was great.  John, the father of the family of 12 helped out his younger children shoot from our 'designated sniper' positions. These were our youngest Appleseeders here at Manheim with the youngest being 4.  They grow Riflemen in West Virginia as our youngest was making good hits!

We had a wide mix of rifles from the standard Ruger 10-22's, Marlins and AR-15's to several AK-47 variants, an AK-74 an AR-10, a M1 Garand, a classic Henry pump action .22, a bullpup and Savage and a clone of the old AR-7 .22 survival rifle.

CharlieW did a great job telling the 3rd strike while we were watching the bride and groom ride by.

We have 2 new Riflemen- both 2nd time Appleseders from Manheim, Paul was first with a 214 and Jerry with a 215.

Paul stepped up and took the Orange hat to become our newest IIT.

Mal won an Appleseed Challenge coin by having the best results on our final Redcoat for all of the Young Patriots.  He missed cleaning the redcoat by only dropping 1 300yd shot.

We had so many young patriots that I ran out of patches.  I'll be mailing John the 3 I owe his family.

The Photo's will follow  I look forward to everyone's comments!

Sorry I couldn't make it. We had a death in the family (Aunt). Looks like another good Manheim shoot.
