Title: Waterman 300---BUMB!, BUMB!, BA-DA-DA BUMB!!!
Post by: adamt on August 05, 2010, 08:26:30 PM
Just feeling the waters if you may.
I have officially signed up as a shooter / reserve IIT. I am just wondering if any other part of the Minnesota contingent is planning on showing.

Pretty sure AFTERMATH is on the schedule to be there. A few of us will be at an AS in Marshall that weekend.

The Marshall shoot was my original plan but I got a hankering for trying a boarder raid!!
This will be my first event out of my Minnesota bubble. I am looking forward to meeting some new folks.

Now all you folks from "The great white north" might be wondering.............Is it worth the trip?  What's the big deal?

Well, ponder this:

1.   A 400 yard long firing line
2.   3900 rounds on the Redcoat in under a minute to get things started
3.   The concussion you'll feel when 300 rifles go off at one time
4.   The pride swell in your heart knowing you are not alone in you patriotic feelings
5.   Think about that TV target.  Now picture how that will be with 300 rifles shooting for 1 1/2 minutes
6.   Think about how it will feel to "have been there"
7.   Think about the the tribute to fallen Americans so we can be shooting today
8.   Think about your "posterity".
9.   Make sure you bring kids.  This will most likely never happen again in their lifetime
10.  Meeting "like minded" folks from across this great Nation, sharing a little dust, and walk away with the knowledge that there are
others all across the country that have similar thoughts.

See you there!

Title: SO....ARE YOU IN, OR ARE YOU OUT?
Post by: AFTERMATH on August 30, 2010, 12:09:21 AM
So, I take a glance over the fence to see what our neighbors are up to behind the Cheddar Curtain......  http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=16424.0
Despite the leaps and bounds that Minnesota has take over the past 24 months; I would appear as though WI is making an attempt to out-represent us at the Waterman 300!
Are we to sit here and allow this to happen?  Are the hoards of Minnesota really so content as to remain in our own territory, whilst there is new territory to be had?  There is a Free Appleseed to be had for a Free people!
Adamt will be there; as will I!  No, we cannot allow the opportunity of a lifetime to slip though our fingers and fall into the hands of those to the South and East.  vmt193, martin, russellmn, kmk, and sparks1 will be self-lessly guarding our western flank against raids on our great farmlands durring this great endeavor!  We are endebted to them.
The rest of you:
Where were you on the 11th of September, on that trajic day in 2001?
What were you doing that morning?  Remember?  Remember that helpless feeling as you watched the towers collapse?
Remember, wishing there was something you could do?
I remember.  And now there is something you can do!
Our country is falling appart.  Collapsing!  Not from terrorists ten thousand miles away, but from the apathy, and ignorance right here on our own shores.  We are collapsing from within.
Presented before you is an opportunity to do something.  Something to change the course of events, to be part of history in the making.
Something to show them, as well as ourselves that we will not go down with out a fight!  Not with arms but with roar of defiance.  A roar of victory!
This is big!  Imagine, being there on the line, as 300 Americans fire 3900 rounds at the Redcoats on Saturday morning!  3900 rounds in the memory of those who fell victim to the attacks on 9/11/2001.  3900 rounds in honor of those through-out our history shed their blood, sweat and tears; so that you would have the honor of being there on 9/11/2010!  3900 rounds in the name of Liberty and in the defiance of Tyranny.  3900 rounds for America!
And that's just the first course of fire!  Somewhere about 150,000 pieces of lead will be thrown down range, that weekend.  Closer and closer to the target with each squeeze of the trigger.
Next time someone asks you; "Where were you on 9/11?"  You can reply; "When?  When we were attacked?  Or when we won?"
No, I'm not implying that we will have won the war with this one battle; but it will be a major victory.  Perhaps a monumentous turning point!
If history tells us anything; it is that the war against tyranny is eternal.  Freedom is granted to the brave; and Liberty to the vigilant.
That, my friends is why we must Appleseed.

This is no regular Appleseed; this is the Appleseed 300!

What have you?  We may fill a car, but when that is full, we may fill another.

Resouces are limitless to the resourceful.

Instructors, shooters, spectators:  You have heard the bugle call.

QuoteOk, September 11, 2010 is right around the corner.  Time has run out to decide if you want to go to Waterman......we need you there!

We have some Appleseed brothers and sisters to our south that have put in an incredible amount of time into making the APPLESEED 300 a successful and memorable shoot.  They need us and I want to be there for them.  I want all of us to be there for them!

Let me be very clear.....this shoot is not only important for Illinois (yes I know they like to strut their stuff!), but it is important for ALL of Appleseed.  From North Carolina to California.   Since Wisconsin is so close....we will reap much of the rewards from their our success.

So, the question, are you in?  or are you out?    I realize that we have some dedicated Wisconsin Instructors who are staying behind to run our Suamico, WI shoot.....but what about the rest of you?

And for IIT's.....this is going to be a great shoot to meet many other Instructors from around parts here and there.  Instructors that you will call friends by the end of the weekend.  You may also get some real good experience working with a line more than 30 shooters...how great is that!

Anyway, here is the list of Instructors that are already signed up.  Please post here or send me a pm and I will update the list.   Whether you are shooting or instructing.........Consider the weekend of September 11/12 one of those "gotta be there" weekends.

Sir,
After reading your post and being awe inspired, I felt the urge to answer your call to attend. Then, in an instant, I realized I will be there. Doing my best to hold the line.

MINNESOTA, DON'T MISS THIS.

Word on the street is that a convoy will be departing on Friday am the 10th of September twenty ten. Safe escort across the land of milk and cheese will be provided.

I can't leave the office before noon Friday in La Crosse.  Is there a way to meet up with the convoy?  @@)
Where are people planning to stay, and is there a way for me to tag along?

Hmm...
I'm not sure of my exact plans yet.  I try to keep my personal logistics 'one shoot at a time' %).
Check with the WI board as well, they may actually be closer.
But, I'm sure there's a way!

Stay tuned.....

Hi, Sparky!

Yeah, I'm the fat broad that you watch get pissed off at her blunders in Rochester.   :---

The sheep is a ewe (hard to get Kevlar over a ram's horns) and the screen name is my surname.  Col Jeff was a distant cousin, and his wife is also named Janelle.  I'm also using Cooper for Cooper Tavern on the Bloody Road, where my hero, the elderly Samuel Whittemore, took his stand in Menotomy.

When the bridges go down, I'll take my stand in Minnesota

She especially is looking forward to meeting you and AdamT after your posts about bringing her to the picnic instead of a vacation spot. Be afraid...be very afraid. !@#)
Did I mention she has been dry firing??? What a gal.

BTW...I recognize I need supervision.

Count'em up folks.. 226 pre-regs as of now.

Me and my crew of well.....me will be leaving the cities at dawn on Friday. I am fortunate enough to have switched from a shooter to an IIT for the event. Now, I will be doubling down and bringing enough gear for several shooters and supplying tired hands to help make it possible.

If you have signed up I look forward to meeting up with you there.
If you are still on the fence, pull the trigger. If you can't come up with a good excuse not to be there get a planing.
If you can't make it, feel free to live the dream vicariously through me for the weekend.

Here is my latest update. I have officially set my departure time for 8:00 - 9:00 am on Friday. Due to arrangement issues I may be possible to free up a seat if anyone is using the drive to eliminate themselves from participation.

PM me with questions, or offers to join the convoy.

I'd like to share a campsite with someone at Shabbona or wherever folks are pitching their tents, couldn't get an online reservation.

Well, the remainder of the Minnesota contingent returned safely in the early morning of Monday. We are proud to have had 1 red hat, one orange hat and 2 shooters on the line. I came home with a new appreciation of what a 10 appleseed appleseed looks like. Minnesota even ended up with a new orange hat. Thanks to all involved, Waterman rocked and I will wear the patch with pride.

I am sure AFTERMATH will have a much more, shall we say, eloquent summary of said events.
