Wow!  What a great shoot!  Where should we start?

The weather was EXCELLENT both days at Red Brush Rifle Range. But even more excellent were the 15 participants!  Everyone was attentive to the marksmanship instruction and even more so to the history. And there were some "special" history events in honor of the patriots of April 19, 1775.  Directly after registration David Jenkins and Ken Gilkey from the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution raised the colors while the national anthem played.

In addition to the Three Strikes of the Match and Dangerous Old Men & Women, Ken returned to give a presentation on local communities and the Forts Kaskaskia and Sackville  from the time period.  Thanks to Instructor YellowhouseJake for connecting us with the SAR.

As regards the marksmanship, a lot of improvement was seen.  One shooter started completely off the backer, but by the afternoon was on target with steadily shrinking groups.  By the time of the "Nationwide Volley", groups were really starting to come together.  On the AQTs, several shooters reached into the 190's with two achieving Rifleman and one of these also choosing to don the orange hat!  Congrats guys!  (and sorry for the poor pictures from the cell phone).  Please notice the purple riflemen patches in remembrance and honor of Instructor Jacqui Wells (Mlle Yotnottin).

On Sunday we had the opportunity to do some known distance instruction including running a 100 yard advanced AQT:

Lest I forget to mention it, IITs XDMan and Heavy Duty did an excellent job.  It was a very busy two days and they kept everything moving smoothly.  Kudos!

I'd like to complement Sur+rifle, Heavy Duty and XD Man on an excellent job.  Everything went smoothly and their enthusiasm spread to all of the attendees.  I also liked how some local history was included in this event.  Thanks
