We are locked for January 10th, its for a one day shoot. I am waiting for the official sign off before I send it to Savageshooter.
I did not ask for camping for this shoot since most of us will be at the instructor get together. If camping is needed let me know and I will make a few calls.
Regarding the rest of the year, APRIL 17 18 looks good but our September date looks like it will be moved to August.
We will be meeting with the board at DBCL on the 11th of January to finalize the dates for 2010.
Hardware and I asked if there were any issues, the only thing mentioned was the range closure during the "hunting period" considering all the youth hunts and T-zone hunts we agreed to move the late shoot to August.
Feedback was excellent and the president even made the comment about having this a "regular shoot" meaning it will not need to be approved every year.
Again I should have my event info for January turned in by the October 30th. I have also expanded the shoot to 25 shooters(it may help keep people warmer)

As I thought may happen, it was confirmed this weekend that I will not be able to make the morning of the 10th. I will stop by in the afternoon to help where I can (clean up, pack up, eat extra food). Let me know how I can help.

The surprising thing to me - Eventbrite tells us there are more registrants who have NOT yet attended an Appleseed, than those who have already been to an Appleseed. WOW! WELCOME! More NEW Appleseeders who are willing to come out in January. :bow:
And...the instructor border-raiding and interloping continues! Those IL instructors are serious about achieving that coveted border-raiding patch! Even though this is only a one-day seed, considering it is a frozen-toe-possibly sub-zero-icicle-seed, I am thinking its gonna count as a border-raid-of-full-credit toward that patch. :cool2:

Got a call from a fellow in MN last night confirming the shoot was on before he and his wife drove the 500 mile round trip :o Its his second shoot BTW
The scheduling meeting that I will be going to on the 11th will also include next January.......are we doing this again????? heck yeah......do we want to have a 2 day in January 2011 ??????? think about it

I would like to try to get this event put up on a community calendar in a newspaper that Hubertus residents receive, but I am not sure what the newspaper is. Can someone tell me the name of the newspaper, or maybe even email the newspaper and give them the information about the event? Either way someone respond to this, so I know if I will be doing it or if one of you have taken care of it.
This event also needs more promo happening from LBOTG, chime in and let us know what has been done so we can figure out what still needs to be done. We want more people signed up! Shooterer has done a wonderful 7th step and we all need to step it up and do more!!!
ChrisZ was able to send me a PM with a name of a newspaper in that area, The Booster, so I was able to get some information up on their website. This one was a lot easier to do and it was at no cost to Appleseed to post it. YEEE-haw!! Just home from my first AS as a full-fledged IIT! OK, ok, it's something that a lot of y'all have already done, but you only get one first such. Joe Z was patient with my occasional boo-boos; I worked Day 1 as a RSO, and then Day 2 got asked to be LB. A little intimidating, but when offered, you step up to the plate and take a swing at it. Joe Z's nice laminated cheat-sheet on the line commands was very useful, and as LB, I only dropped his timer twice, and it kept working.
Thanks to all--JoeZ, MuskyJerk, ColinZ, and the AS shooters for making it a pleasant, very worthwhile, learning experience for me!! :)

Joe Z - since we are confessing about dropped timers, I think I dropped it 3 times on Saturday :o, when I find myself in the kitchen section at the store I will getcha a new one. But since I am a rifleman and not a cook, I dont find myself there offen. ;D
I cannot expect you men to know how to handle a kitchen timer...you are riflemen after all. ;D (Like we said at the shoot....only Deacon is both rifleman and exceptional cook)

3 more shoots have been approved for 2010 THIS YEAR!!!
Last night the board approved these new dates:
Sept 25 (one day shoot only)
Nov 20 (also one day only)
Dec 18 (again one day only)
Due to a few reasons, one of which is the ability to hold a one day Appleseed, the Boone club is going to increase the number of shoots from 3 per year to at least double pending the success of the next 3 shoots.
We thank the club for their support, again.
Let's start promoting people. This can only lead to good things for us.

PS If you live near here you should really join this club. With work hours (yes, instructing at an Appleseed is work hours) the annual fee is only $80 for a club with everything. Trap, skeet, 200m rifle, 50m, archery, 3D archery, 100m aux range with running deer, indoor air rifle and pistol, nature trails and hunting on the grounds for members,and a brand new million dollar clubhouse, and all sorts of matches and courses to take.
