Title: Attitude towards Instructing/helping the program
Post by: B9 on October 13, 2009, 09:03:53 AM
In the profile of one of NYs IITs under the "Location" field.

Location: Where do you need me to be?

About sums it up. This is what is needed. People willing to go where needed. Not just where you want to. The Rifleman bubble can be applied to more than just shooting. When called upon, nothing else matters. It is just you and your target.

I hope to make alot of distant NY shoots (perhaps some PA shoots as well). the upstate NY ones sound like alot of fun to me.

    Yessir, couldn't agree more.

A big "O0" to the IIT...and a lesson to the rest of us, as you point out.

Well now - here's a blast from the past I've stumbled upon while looking at older posts on the NY Board.

This commitment to service still holds true today, maybe even more than it did in October 2009.  As we continue to bring new ranges on-board we will find more and more opportunities to travel farther to staff them.  It has always been suggested that Appleseed instructors sign up to work many different ranges, under many different Shoot Bosses, to gain a more solid foundation for when they move up to the SB level.

On a side note, if you haven't done so recently and you have a few minutes, browse through some of the older topics & discussions of the NY Board.  There is a lot of good info there.
