The Amarillo, TX Constitution Day Appleseed was blessed with good Appleseeders and great weather. They applied themselves well and started on the journey to become Riflemen. I like those flag-pole holders you have; where did you get them? I have a really poor one that I paid too much money for, and I'm sure we're all interested in better solutions.
The flag-pole holders (called "portable holes") were handmade about 20 years ago. The holder is a 24" piece of 1/2" rebar with two 2" o.d. (1.5" i.d.) plain steel rings welded on with an oxy/acetylene torch. First ring just below the top, the second 12" from the top. The poles are 7' sections of 1-1/4" closet-round simply dropped into the rings. The flags are held in place with short pieces of nylon twine tied through holes bored in the closet-round.
Those don't sound too difficult to make.

Despite what some might think we have MANY rifleman in Texas.....if only they are properly motivated......Not to detract from Ashrn's ability-he is an excellent instructor. If I have my way, he will before long, have some new equipment to help in the cause.

I was feeling bad that you didn't have any of our IIT's from out here to help you. If I wasn't already committed to Raton I would have headed out there. I don't feel so bad now as you obviously know what you are about! A one man appleseeding machine! And one more to raise up to that standard of excellence! Woohoo!
And might I add, this is not the first time ashrn03 has ran events entirely solo!
