Ran out of Rilfeman patches.
This is good news 8)
12 shooters
3 left early Saturday
Two others broke my heart getting 20Xs but they'll fix that soon.
The other 7 made Rifleman
Two are definitely IITing and I think a few more will too.
32 AQTs (and yes, one guy got it on the last one!)
101 rounds worth of Redcoats, trigger finger, NPOA, and rapid fire drills
1381 rounds of well aimed fire finished before 5pm.
The Riflemen even got to shoot some uh... man sized targets at 200 yards and a steel target at 500 Sunday afternoon while the others kept hammering (or getting hammered?) on the old Anvil.
Somebody warn the good people of Utah.
I had been looking forward to this event for over a month, and was NOT disappointed. I was a little disappointed in my shooting ( I know I can do better), and my rifle (scope kept sliding off backwards [even after some gunsmithing on sat night, not as bad though]). I have only within the last year gotten back into shooting [dang bug has hit hard too :-)]. I came to learn to shoot better and under the instruction of crak, nishnabotna, and others I DID. The first day Rifleman eluded me by just enuf to really upset me. I made a declarqation saturday night I am getting that patch!!! I realized just how much the instruction had helped when I was shooting prone @ 500 yds (AR-15) and my spotter was getting bored with calling hits :-), thanks Joel. All in All great event. If my situation (money) becomes better, I would be interested in IIT'n. Glad to see all that turned out.
I think most people enjoyed themselves and look forward to the next event with new people.
Better than I expected. I'd like to thank all of those who helped make the event a success! I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it won't be to hard to convince the club here to host another event - right COMPUDOC? Now to get some of the guys who passed on this one off of their butts and onto the firing line... &)
Hey COMPUDOC, how many rounds do you think that 500 meter steel will take before we need to replace it? Ah, good times.
Thanks again! Safe travels all of you!
Best,
Briareos
I think once the fence sitters find out how informative and fun this event was they will be out for the next one. Not sure on that 500 yd. target, but I am all for trying to wear out :-) ( as long as the ammo stores hold out), I love a good challenge. Again, Thank you to all who made this possible! Until next time, Shoot Straight & Shoot Often!!! (Compudoc sighs as he thinks about the smell of gunpowder going BANG!!!!)
