Title: Letter from US Representative Ander Crenshaw regarding Appleseed
Post by: caseyblane on August 29, 2009, 07:06:25 PM
Attached is the response I got from the invitation I sent to my congressman for the St. Augustine shoot. Nice letter, too bad he is not coming. I haven't heard back from State Sen. Wise or State Rep. McBurney yet. I sent them each an 8.5x11 envelope containing a flyer/reg. form and a brief letter on stationary about the program and inviting them.

Well, he called the Appleseed Mission "essential" - guess that's an endorsement by a Congress rep...sorta... O0

For immediate release.......... US Representative Ander Crenshaw says "... the Appleseed Project's mission... is essential"

Hey, it is better than the complete form letters I get back.

Casey,

Might be worth a followup to his in state staff, ask for his lead on 2 AM issues and make the offer.  In some cases, getting the staffer on board is more productive that the REP/SEN.

Good job Casey.
Now like hawkhaven said, get a staffer from the local office to "come on down", the price is right. Give them some Appleseed quality time. Hand them your well prepped LTR, set up for easy shooting and reliability, Put them on the range. Show them that people are involved and that we believe in making this thing work and work well.
Show them common people. learning and enjoying and getting full of the good stuff, liberty. Teach them about rifle marksmanship and American Heritage and send them back to work seeing that we common Americans have Hope.
