Title: Motorkote - anyone use this stuff yet?
Post by: slim on August 28, 2009, 06:18:36 PM
Every night on my drive home from work I listen to America's Truckin Network on the radio. Good show, a lot of good info out there and it kind of gives me a little insight into what our big rig drivers are going through. Well, one of the main sponsors of that show is Motorkote. Motorkote is a "hyperlubricant" that is added during oil changes to prolong engine life, reduce wear and friction, etc.

The guy who promotes the stuff is always talking about adding motorkote to other things - anything metal - to prolong life and make them operate more efficiently. Things like lawn mowers, door hinges, even scissors. Several callers have talked about using it as a lubricant on their firearms with great effect. One of my coworkers used it on his rifles and shotguns and he said it's like a night and day difference.

I'm guessing the typical person who lubes their rifle with any product doesn't shoot 500 rounds in a single weekend, much less a month or even a few years. But, since we do, I was wondering if anyone's been using this product to lube their rifles and what effect it's had on operation and any issues they've had.

Experiences, suggestions?
