Another new location in California and another great bunch of Americans! Bridgeport was absolutely gorgeous and if you ever have a chance to visit this little town, I would recommend it. After meeting Albert, our kind host, on Friday, we set up camp at the range and prepared for another exciting Appleseed weekend. Saturday morning dawned bright and beautiful and after target backers and pop-ups were put in place, we welcomed 14 shooters, introduced ourselves and jump right into Appleseeding. We had folks from all ages and genders and some of the nicest people I've ever met. The weather was warmer than usual for this area and temps went up into the high 90's, but we persisted and proceeded to put lead down range. Unfortunately, this Shoot Boss fell ill about mid-day and after lunch and the 3 strikes, I began fading fast and had to retire from the Appleseed, but I am grateful for the wonderful Instructor's working with me at this Appleseed, who jumped right in, grabbed the bull by the horns and steered our attendees down the path to becoming Riflemen. I will leave the rest of this AAR for the bunch that had me covered at this Appleseed. Thanks again Romeo's Hero, Double D, Eaglescouter and Norcal22gal!

Sorry to hear that Bob. Big kudos to Romeo's Hero and the IIT's for steping up and taking care of things. So were there any Rifleman? Orange hats taken?
No riflemen this trip, but high scores were around 193, so some were very close.
Great attitudes on the line, lots of potential orange hats :)
Lots of fun and wonderful shooters.
One thing that really impressed me was the community support. We were treated to lunch (complete with yummy brownies) and large containers of ice water both days and the range parking area was watered down each morning. So a Big thanks to them for their support. ;D O0 Our hosts came up several times to check on us and the water containers.
A great time was had by all. Several were knocking on the door to the rifleman patch. They were all there in spirit.
Hope to get some pictures posted tomorrow.

Sorry for taking so long to post on this one. Life gets in the way of so many important things.
What a wonderful Appleseed... while the numbers of shooter may seem small we just about maxed out this ranges capacity. On Saturday we ran 2 lines for the first part of the day, Bob took 10 shooters on the large line and I had 4 shooters on the smaller line. The beginning of the day all demos were done with both lines together then we split into two groups and progressed through the course of fire. After lunch Bob210 pulled a JB and feigned food poisoning (for more on the JB story see this thread http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=7647.msg72081#msg72081 (http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=7647.msg72081#msg72081)) and I took over as substitute Shoot Boss. A few of our shooters had to leave at lunch also (this is a busy time of year for Bridgeport) so we combined the lines and ran one for the rest of sat and sun. Sunday shooters continued learning about seated and standing positions then progressed to the AQT's, and ended with a final Rebcoat target.
After the saturday was complete the instructors were able to use the remaining daylight to get in a little shooting time and then enjoy a great night camping at the range.
Morning came quickly and all the shooters that completed all day saturday returned sunday... persistance. We started sunday with redcoats and then a review of steady hold factors of prone using a method we call "what's wrong with this picture" where shooters correct the position of one of our instructors. After doing squares and reviewing all the positions we went into the AQT grind. All shooters were showing improvement but we were all feeling the effects of the sun as well. The meat market in town provided us all with a wonderful lunch of sandwiches, macaroni salad and drinks (Thank you). During luch we all sat under the canopies and told the shooters about Dangerous Old Men and Determined Dames. Since half of our shooters had to depart right after lunch I also did the benediction during lunch and discussed the 7th step, Double D shared his 7th step story and encouraged the shooter to take action as well. The AQT grind continued after lunch and we also took some time for one-on-one instruction for the shooters to work on their problem areas. The instructors. Due to work obligations, the sun, and long drives only 1 shooter stayed the whole day.
We had a great time and look forward to coming out again, hopefully the new range will be open too.
