Quick Stats:
Day 1: 11 shooters
1 rifleman. Eric, from Buffalo, NY (!) shot two AQTs in a row scoring 209 each. After lunch and some Special Vermont Rifleman Spring Water his next target was a 225. A job well done!
Day 2: 9 shooters
2 riflemen. AK Panda (already an IiT) and Tom. We shot a total of 12 RFAQT's, and Tom posted rifleman scores on all but one. With a bolt-action rifle. He has not committed to an orange hat due to other commitments, but we are keeping a close eye on him.
Total shooters for the weekend: 15
We had a number of shooters who were very close to to posting rifleman scores.
Distinguished participants included the secretary of Gun Owners of VT. Ilse did well and I hope to see her at the next Appleseed.
Total round count was in excess of 800 rounds for the weekend. Exact count unknown since we did a "Mad Minute" shoot on the star targets immediately after lunch on Sat. This woke the participants up and got them going for the afternoon program.
Smithy was there to help the shooters with their mechanical problems as well as instructing- a great asset indeed.
Weather was near-perfect: warm/hot, partly sunny, partly cloudy, and NO RAIN- the first real summer days we have had this summer.
A special Thank You to to my Instructor Corps: Buzzworth, Twiggman, Natty Bumpo, Ninsho,DoesItComeInBlack, Smithy, and Monkeywrench.
Working with a crew like this is a pleasure, and I hope to do it again soon.

HUMMMMMM I think maybe try.....
I'm Buzzworth and I LOVE this stuff!!! :)
Have to give credit to this fellow and his unorthodox "Kung-Fu" stlyle of support ! This shooter had an issue with his forearm and could not use a conventional hold. He was close to earning Rifleman status by the end of Sunday.
A Rifleman will improvise and adapt !

He also brought along his three sons, the youngest was 10, and I believe the oldest had recently enlisted in either the Army or the Guard. That's his oldest in the dark red shirt on the line behind him. The other two young un's were sitting out that particular AQT.
Thanks and a Tip O'the Stetson™ for helping preserve the tradition of the American Rifleman ! (http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p169/twiggman/Smilies/yo.gif)
