We had the great pleasure of having 14 Patriots join us Oct 24-25th for a weekend full of History, rifle marksmanship, and camaraderie!
With great weather in store, and some clearly Teachable Attitudes, this was a fantastic weekend for another Appleseed in Chattanooga! This weekend proved to be a Very fun event!
Our shooters and instructors enjoyed hearing Regulator deliver the First Strike of the Match, and after all our Safety Briefs, we got on the line to sort out the Red Coat target. After our Red coat targets delivered a good base-line of instruction needed for our shooters, we got down to our formal instruction. I am proud to say our shooters quickly absorbed the instruction given, and shot groups steadily tightened up.
At lunchtime, Cleveland shared the Second Strike, and he left us with Isaac Davis' command to "Take good care of the Children". After Second Strike, we discussed how to communicate with our rifles using IMC, and our shooters quickly showed they were tracking throughout the whole IMC block of instruction. Toward the end of the day on Saturday, Wiley Coyote shared the Third Strike, as our Red Coats hightailed it back to Boston.
I am very pleased to say that despite several mechanical issues, some resulting in extra loaner rifles coming out on the line (Thank you Wiley), our shooters kept very positive attitudes, and their shot groups continued to improve.
The weekend resulted in 4 new shooters earning a Rifleman's score, and one Re-qual (our re-qual shooter shot a Rifleman's score on every AQT).
The VERY best part of the whole weekend came when we had 2 shooters answer the call to help spread the love of Liberty by taking an orange hat!!! Thank you Blueduck, and Knotinappletree for stepping up!!
