It was an amazing Halloween weekend for us at Everett Sportsman's Club. We had 17 shooters come out, a perfect mix of returning shooters and new attendees.
We had 9 instructors, including two who were brand new IIT 0's! The event was headed up by an SBIT3 under the careful guidance of both our local DSB and state coordinator, and a second SB. After our intro's and pre-history, Dan (PNWCarrier) inspired all of us with the first strike. This would not be the last time Dan told a great story though!
The Everett Range that hosts us put on a Jambalaya feed for lunch! The hot meal was a welcome treat with temps hovering around the 50 degree mark! After lunch, and more instruction, 3 shooters requalified with Rifleman scores, including a 238!
Before benediction, Ian (IBorche) was recognized for his service to Appleseed, and was presented his 75 event pin. That means he has donated the 75 weekend to the cause of liberty! Huzzah! We wrapped up at 16:59 (4:59pm) with a reminder to set clocks back! No one wanted to get to the range at 6:30 AM!!
Day 2 dawned a little warmer, and since we could not shoot until 10 am, we CRUSHED the review that morning. By 10 am, we were waiting as the seconds ticked by, and at 10:00 + 1 second, the first shots of the day were fired. Folks made some small adjustments, and some drills were run to help put some polish on transitions, and the grind began!
During lunch, warm leftovers were a welcome treat. The KD presentation was well recieved, and although there was some real interest in applying those principles, and taking some shots on the 100 yd range, the rifle range was flooded and out of service. The shooters were challenged to come to a RKD or a KD and really get some shooting in!
The SBIT broke up the AQT grind with a Parkers Revenge, DOM and DOM stories, and Dan (PNWCarrier) told a "spooky" Dangerous Old Man story that was fantastic! AQT scores continued to rise through the day. All the shooters showed steady, and sometimes dramatic score increases throughout the weekend.Mike M went from a low of 100, to 187! Vince W. made the drive over with his family from Idaho, and posted a 73 for his first AQT. By the end, he was shooting 195! All of you shooters KEEP PRACTICING! A rifleman persists!
By the end of the weekend, we had 5 shooters who re-qualified as riflemen, and 1 new rifleman! Huzzah!
The weekend was capped off with a new Shoot Boss being awarded a green hat, and then, baptized. Our DSB had flown across the country, walked battle road, and at the north bridge, collect a half gallon of water from that most historic of places. Carefully bringing this home, the new SB was "blessed" in a shower of its water.
Thank you to everyone who came out to to Everett, and thank you for making this a fantastic weekend.
Yours In Liberty

A highly successful Spookyseed! Thanks Mike for running a great event, and a big thank you to the Everett Sportsman's Club for hosting us!
If you zoom in close you'll find that "Jenny" holding up the map has a beard. ;D
Awesome event, Bandaid et al. Every one is the best one with this gang.
