We started with 4 shooters this weekend, and on Sunday we lost one shooter. Saturday morning was rainy, and temperatures were in the high 60s. On Sunday, it was misty to rainy the entire day, with highs in the mid-60s. My canopies finally dried out today.
Overall, our shooters had a great weekend. Most of them continued to improve their scores throughout the weekend. One of our shooters started off with a 50 and ended the weekend with 192 on the last PQT. I handed out two Immortal 400 patches to two shooters who cleared the Hits Count target. We had 2 Pistoleer patches to hand out, and the others were very close. We even had a shooter qualify with two revolvers; one was a ten-shot .22, and another was a 7-shot .38.
We shot the big dot and little dot targets in a couple of different ways, and I broke out some new history for the first time to discuss the development of the tactical deployment of the pistol after the Texas Rangers' win against the Comanches, as discussed in the Sam and Sam history that was also told. Pheobe did a great job instructing and coaching the line.
Overall, everyone had a great attitude and tried to improve their shooting. We all enjoyed a safe shoot.
