What a great weekend at the Otto Newlin Shooting Range. This was my first time at this range, and the first Appleseed since 2016 I believe. This great facility is close enough to Indiana that we had one family join us from across the border and my phone wasnt totally sure what timezone it was in. Thankfully the alarm that went off at the wrong time was an hour early not late #)
We had 4 youth and 2 adults out for our weekend, only 2 had been to an Appleseed before.
Saturday started out with 2 300 yard shooters and 1 100 yard shooter on our morning Hits Count. A great day of learning and shooting wrapped up the day with all six grouping on sillouets. 1@300 2@200 3@100 and one shingle hit. Great improvement over the Day!
We also had a great time discussing our heritage and sharing the history of our Country. At the end of Saturday all our youth were presented Young Patriots Patchs, and all were charged to get involved in the community and support our liberties.
Sunday we got back into it with 3 shingle hits :snipersmi We spent some time confirming our zero, and after some ball and dummy got back to an AQT. We didn't mint any new Rifleman yet, but I am sure we have some in our future, and by the end of the day Mike had most of the cobwebs knocked off breaking 200 twice.
Thanks to all our participants Collin, Mike, Phillip, Carson, Reed and Liam; the parents that joined us; and to the range and our host Ken for all the support!
