We enjoyed an incredible time in Chattanooga with 14 brave Patriots showing up for a weekend full of history, marksmanship, and sunshine! Although the weather was on the sweltering side for the entire weekend, our Liberty loving students Persisted, by showing all of our instructor cadre that they knew exactly "what they were about"!!
We started off Saturday morning with a fantastic First Strike delivered by Regulator, and after we were left with the image of the devastation brought on by the redcoats on Lexington Green, we were off to the races.
Our instructor cadre was surprised to see early Saturday morning, 4 of our fantastic students hit Morgan's Shingle and they would be counted early on as rifleman and Not as cooks.
Then, after sorting out our groups on several squares targets, we found ourselves sweating right into the lunchtime portion of the day for hydration and sustenance. Maximum Effort introduced our students to Capt Isaac Davis, and the challenge to "Take good care of the children" was extended.
After Special_K's IMC introduction, our students found out how to get their already excellent shot groups onto that elusive 4MOA black square!
A couple more squares for confirmation later, and we were starting to see our students dig deep to fight through the heat, and exhaustion.
Shooter Mcgavin showed our students that their Targets have been Talking to them all day, and they quickly took on the task of listening to their targets more intently.
Special_K got the desperate redcoats back to Boston, and at the end of day 1, we addressed Morgan's Shingle a second time. Everyone present was proud to see our Morgan's Shingle riflemen crew grow from 4 shooters qualifying in the morning to 8 in the hot afternoon!! HUZZAH!!
Early Sunday morning we had a few shooters with some sore necks, and we had a good discussion on actually acquiring our NPOA. With the sharing of a few Dangerous Old Men stories and a thorough review of all instructional blocks, we got back down to business. We rounded out Sunday with 7 total shooters qualifying Rifleman on the AQT, 4 of which had never shot Rifleman before!!
In total we had 12 total rifleman scores (among our 7 shooters), with 3 more closely knocking on the door.
Special congratulations to Matt, who shot 3 Rifleman scores 210 (with a baptism in the SE TN heat) followed by 215 and 217 WITH IRONS!
Additionally, Krista shot 3 Rifleman scores including the days highest score 227!!
I want to extend a special thank you to all of our students, and our instructor cadre who made this an incredible weekend despite the less than favorable weather.
Our two new IIT's Shooter Mcgavin, and Law both did a great job learning their instructional blocks, and I look forward to seeing Everyone on the line again soon!
