It was a Hot one!
Students and instructors alike persevered despite a heat index over 100 degrees both days. It was a great weekend.
The Spann family Farm graciously hosted us. They regularly open their range to Appleseed and we are grateful for that.
We had 12 shooters on the line. A few were repeat Appleseeders but all were first time Pistolseeders. Shooters ranged from 20 to 76 years old. It was a pleasure to teach everyone but making sure our younger generation heard the stories we told was a treat.
We started the day with History and Instruction. Everyone was taking in the information and proved later that they were paying attention as their shooting improved with every block of instruction. We were unable to shoot a PQT on Saturday. Time and energy ran out.
On Sunday, we picked up where we left off. It was a good day of PQTs and drills. Everyone's favorite drill was the Whitlock drill. Being able to shoot various models, calibers, grip sizes and angles, and sighting systems opened the shooters' eyes to what other pistols are available, and some realized they did much better with something other than what they brought, while others were happy to know that their own pistol was a good fit. It was a very practical way for shooters to learn about the various options that exist.
By the end of the 2nd, very hot day, Bud earned his pistoleer patch with a score of 221. Way to go Bud, show those youngsters how it's done! Everyone else did very well, greatly improving scores from 1st to last PQT of the day.
All Students and instructors earned the "Caliente" patch for persevering despite the heat index.
It was a great weekend at the range with Appleseed. I want to thank all students and instructors for being there, putting up with the heat and keeping a positive attitude.
Huzzah!

Congratulations on another successful shoot.
This was a great event. Thanks to the Spann Family for hosting us!!
CONGRATS to Bud on scoring his first Pistoleer score, and to everyone else who made excellent progress throughout the weekend.
The weather was SO HOT (CALIENTE). Everyone did a good job of staying in the shade and hydrated.
I'm already looking forward to the next one!!

What happened to James? Pistolseed isn't intended to be a contact sport!
You're only supposed to threaten them if they don't listen. Sheesh, you guys are tough down there. It looks like a fun shoot.
