We had a great weekend for a shoot at the Ames Izaak Walton League. After dodging some raindrops on Saturday, Sunday was almost perfect - 70, sunny, and dry. Many thanks to the Ames Ikes for hosting us!
We had nine shooters participate, including three first time attendees, with experience coming in ranging from beginner to expert. We saw tremendous improvement as the weekend went on. Shooters - your hard work and teachable attitudes were a delight to your instructors. You're perseverance will pay off!
We had several shooters knocking at the door by the end of Sunday. Cody Ray requalified, and decided that he wanted to take a blue hat. Huzzah!
Thanks to Ames, Cadguy, and IowaMark for all your hard work.
Photos to follow.
Thank Y'all for putting on the event!
It was great to get on the field with my own rifle this time and put in some work. I still haven't figured out why the scope is shooting ~2 inches to the right after being perfectly zeroed on Saturday. I got out yesterday and trued it up, so hopefully at the next event I can give it an Honest try to get the Tippman and perfect score!
I look forward to helping out with the Blue Hat and giving something back. I appreciate what Project Appleseed is doing and the preservation of history is always a noble cause.
