Title: AAR Mile High IBC, Denver, CO March 7-8, 2026
Post by: Mrs. Smith on May 18, 2026, 08:22:00 PM
Once upon a time....

Wait, what?  No...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far,
far away....

Well, the "long time ago" part is true enough...

ahem...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far,
far away....

Actually, it was in beautiful Denver, Colorado  :cool2:

The day I arrived I was lucky enough to land only moments before the beginning of the first REAL snowstorm of the season! Huzzah!
Colorado knows I'm a desert rat, so it saved that little tidbit up for me  :slap:

After remembering how to drive in the snow and tracking down a fuzzy hat, I settled in and got ready for the weekend.

Saturday morning dawned cold, but bright and clear, and I took that as the BEST possible omen!

Welcome to Denver, 3/26!

In attendance were:

Bravhrt - my host and awesome CO State Coordinator
LeadSled
Code Fogey
Taildragger
TopHand
Humongous
Hezekiah75
HappyCamper
nhaima
Corsair12
Curly Chris
Trigger Paws

We made our introductions and dove right in!  Group leads Code Fogey, Bravhrt, TopHand and LeadSled guided their teams through their practice at presentation and blocks of instruction. Taildragger, the veteran of the group, graciously stepped back to let some of the newer cadre stretch their leadership legs.  How about we let the photos do the talking?

Midway through the first day the neighbors got SUPER nosy and swung by to make sure we weren't up to no good  ::)

At the end of the weekend, friendships were strengthened, skills were sharpened, and confidence was built.

Particular thanks to LeadSled, my partner in crime and dSB to the Centennial State. Appreciate you, brother, for helping to shoulder the IBC load and setting a great example for your cadre. You did an awesome job.

Kudos time!

First up:

LeadSled and Code Fogey have been carrying the bulk of the Shoot Boss load in Colorado, and National Coordinator Cleveland sent some of his own Challenge Coins out to express appreciation on behalf of the program.

Presented to two very excellent mentors helping to build a strong cadre in Colorado, Bravhrt and Taildragger, the last of the Project Appleseed 20th Anniversary challenge coins  :)  (yes, I'm short, I know)

Bonus!  Curly Chris and Trigger Paws were not yet OFFICIAL volunteers at the beginning of the weekend.  And even after spending two days with this wild bunch, they STILL chose to join us!  Welcome to the Cadre!

Last but not least, I was pleased to present a Son of Liberty bar to Colorado's youngest volunteer, Corsair12.  You, and others like you, are the future of Project Appleseed, and the future of our nation.  I truly believe both will be in good hands  ..:..

Ladies and gentlemen, it was my honor to spend this time with you, and I hope to see you all again soon on the Appleseed trail.

On behalf of Project Appleseed, we extend our gratitude the the Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club and LockheedMartin for allowing us to use their most excellent facilities to further Liberty. Huzzah!

In Liberty,
Mrs. Smith

Thank you, sir, for joining us. I'm hopeful for the future of Appleseed in Nebraska with a man of your caliber (see what I did there?) at the wheel.

Many thanks to all CO and NE cadre members who allocated time from their busy schedules to attend the 2026 Mile High IBC at Skyline HFC!

Your participation, enthusiasm, and commitment to liberty made this a outstanding event and provided a fantastic kick-off to our season.

Special thanks to SHFC members codefogey and Lead Sled for their contributions in (once again) coordinating the use of this fine facility.

And of course, maximum gratitude to the lovely and talented Mrs. Smith, without whom this event would not have been possible.

Aim small, miss small. :snipersmi

Thank you, Mrs. Smith, for such a fun and educational weekend, and thank you to Bravhrt, LeadSled, and Codefogey for all the help facilitating.  I left far better informed than I was when I showed up.

I'm excited to see so much new energy in the Colorado Cadre!
