We were blessed to hold a one-day Appleseed rifle clinic on the 251st Anniversary of the shot heard round the world. Monticello Sportsmen Club graciously hosted the 15 participants and the seven volunteer instructors.
The day was a glorious day in more than one aspect. Weather was good, fellowship was better, and the participants were awesome. While the event was the first for the cadre this year it went smoothly and we were able to get in two AQTs along with the memorial volley and special DOM. Thank you to the volunteers that made it happen.
For many of the participants this was their first Appleseed with a few being their second. Safety was great all day and the marksmanship improved all around.
Mark was able to prove his skill by shooing a best score of 234 on the AQT
Tim was able to obtain a 214 on his 2nd AQT
Lee was able to out shoot his brother and earned his Rifleman patch with a 229 at his first Appleseed event.
These same three were able to clear the Hits Count at the end of the day.
Josh, Ted, Bruce, Conor, Josh, Xander, Jonathan, Adian, and Joshua - it was a pleasure meeting each of you and I hope that you will continue to work on your marksmanship skills and look forward to seeing you at future Appleseed events.
Well done to all of you.
