Wow! what a perfect day.
great friends, old and new! Perfect weather, and a fun-filled day of instructors being able to get some work in behind their triggers. Skillz develolpmentz!
The morning started bright and early(ish) in the clubhouse with some fresh breakfast sandwiches for those that braved spending the night, the moved quickly to setting up the line and flags for the weekend. Light hands did indeed make quick work. Extra supports and rope were needed as we were to have 33 students for the weekend. After a welcome and safety brief, rifles were brought to the line. And boy did they come out, in droves and hundreds (well, maybe not that many :) )
As this was more of an open format, we took turns in calling the line (the short straw). The target bins were opened and instructors were able to choose what they needed the most work on. Some had rifles that needed zeroed, others were doing redcoats and aqt's. Some even braved the long walk of Moria, I mean down to the 300 line, and posted full size aqt's and worked on their distance.
All too quickly lunchtime arrived, and for those in the know know, when it's lunchtime at this range, you drop everything and go to lunch. And what a feast we found spread out before us! After gorging ourselves, it was back to the line for some instruction and more shooting fun. Some kind instructors were even allowing those less fortunate to play with quiet toys, and make you go broke very quickly ones.
Sadly, the day came to an end too quickly and some of us parted ways. The rest followed their intrepid shootboss on a journey of a thousand miles to a local pizza place where way too much food was ordered and consumed.
Until next time, thank you all!

This was a good start to a long weekend! Lots of rifles, lots of good people and when there's an event at Tusco, food is involved. I spent my day trying to determine the best way to deal with my changing vision. Stick on lenses in shooting glasses are right out, that didn't work at all! My Grandpa always said getting old wasn't for sissies. LOL
Sorry I arrived so late. The food and fellowship at Tusco make it one of my favorite places.
