A wonderful range, and great host. Deer Creek Conservation Club, near Jonesboro, IN hosted us for a Patriot's Day 25M event. Their rifle range had been closed for renovation and literally opened just in time for our event. I am very grateful to the club as they closed the range to members for our event. Thank you Gene Henderson for your great hospitality.
6 Patriots came out to celebrate Liberty with us and learn about marksmanship. 3 of the shooters were first-time attendees. The weather was perfect, the attitudes awesome, marksmanship skills sharp, and history inspiring. By the end of the weekend, we saw Elias and Cesar requalify as Rifleman. All 3 of our newbies, were turning in solid scores from the mid 100s to upper 180s. Kate proved a Rifleman persists as she worked through equipment issues. I think we may have a winning combination for her. I imagine another event will see them joining the ranks of Rifleman. We closed out our weekend together with a memorial volley and the story of Prince Estabrook.
I want to thank my cadre of Kanoa, JHB, EchoCharlie, TheGunsliningGamer, FireAxes, Hemi286, and Traveling man for all of your help. You all made being the shoot boss a breeze. I look forward to seeing you at future events.
The patch is nice but the skills I've learn, fun I've had and friends I've made are priceless!
3rd Appleseed with 3 different rifles, missing by 3 shots says a-lot for the program.
Looking forward to the KD, hopefully not only get holes in the paper but actually in the target at 200.
Geek and the gang,
Had a great time this weekend. You guys put on a heck of a clinic. I'm already eyeing my next AS weekend :)
One general suggestion for all AS clinics - shoot more Parker's Revenge. That is such a great marksmanship test. The coordinated fire, the multiple targets, the time limit ... I love it!
