Title: AAR: Redbrush Rifle Range, Evansville, IN. April 18-19, 2026

This Patriots' Day 25m clinic was one to remember. 11 worthy gentlemen mustered to the legendary Red Brush Rifle Range, one of the best ranges in the Hoosier State for safety, fun, history, and marksmanship. The weather also attended the class, and our students perservered, as Riflemen do.

We used the excellent Webber Training Facility for our morning class. After opening remarks, the students heard a rousing First Strike and then went into a concentrated instruction block as the rain abated and the line was constructed. After more rain, lunch, and the Second Strike, it was time for riflery.

With the first Hits Count, then applying what they had learned, the students went through strings of fire, and POIs as the weather switched from rinse to spin cycle. As the marksmanship instruction completed, the first AQT was had, and Eric P. claimed our first Rifleman patch of the day with a good score. Following with the closing Hits Count Target, David cleared it to end our first day well.

Our second day dawned clear and cold, as the front left us a good day for the 251st anniversary of Patriots' Day. After opening, we went straight into some Dangerous Women stories and the story of Prince Estabrook. We reviewed the previous day's instruction and commenced to shooting. Eric P. again showed his skill with clearing the Hits Count.

We soon filled the rest of the morning with AQTs. Eric P. shot another Rifleman score. Instructor Alexandra The Great requalified with her best score yet. Josh shot Distinguished with Irons! He then followed it up with another qualifying score. IIT Shoot N Drive requalified. Eric S. shot a Rifleman score.

We had lunch with the rest of the Dangerous Old Men history and the KD lecture.

David shot a Rifleman score on the last AQT after lunch.

We then moved our targets, including our prototype KD folding target that we are evaluating, to 100 yards, shot with sights as-is, saw the results, determined our come-ups, dialed, shot, and observed the successful results.

Moving the targets back (and removing the come-ups), we then solemnly conducted the Patriot's Volley at the appointed time with all other Appleseed clinics this weekend. The Bloody Butcher was read, and the copies distributed. That, along with the event patch of Mr. Estabrook, should provide a reminder of the event. The instructors were thanked and issued the blue April 19th rocker.

We then did a fun Parker's Revenge, with decent scores on both sides. Colonel Smith took more punishment from the left team, so they won and received swag. We finished the day with the final hits count that Eric S. cleared. After closing comments, we closed the event.

The shooters were reminded of our upcoming Spring KD weekend and encouraged to attend. TWO KD shoots at Redbrush this year. Come to Indiana and shoot the 500 yard thunder!

There will be more pictures, here are the ones from my camera.
