Early fog lifted quickly to a beautiful Saturday morning. 11 Americans, including 6 first time Appleseed attendees were regaled with their country's history and heritage before marksmanship skills were developed.

The instructors had an easy time with the students' engagement and good attitudes. Having such interested students made this a joy for the volunteers of Project Appleseed.

The high wind forecast proved to be correct and tried to mess with people's chance to put what they'd learnt into an AQT by buffeting around mats and canopies, but 3 shooters prevailed to earn their Rifleman patch. Grant, with an impressive 214 at his first event. Joel, with a 215 at his second event. And Ben refreshed his Rifleman status, then took an orange hat to help our mission in teaching Americans their extraordinary heritage. Thank you, Ben!

For Sunday, we welcomed two extra instructors, and the results from shooters began to improve. Two new Riflemen earned their patch. Austin mastered the standing position and scored a 211 despite crossfire messing with his great shooting. Chris scored a 219 before his equipment began to mess with his afternoon.

Gavin (227) and Joel (211) both requalified.

JP is oh so close to earning his patch with 208 and 207 scores. He has the skills but needs to focus on pulling it together. Harry showed an impressive score of 190 at his first Appleseed. Experienced Appleseeder Ken shot a 197 with iron sights.
The youngest American, Jaxon, 11, showed a valiant effort by staying safe all weekend and turning in a 141. We look forward to seeing him again and watching his scores improve.

My thanks to a wonderful group of Appleseed instructors for volunteering their time to make this a successful event.
Our heartfelt gratitude to Ares Training Facility and its staff for allowing us to use their wonderful facility for Project Appleseed.
