Time changes are evil - but a weekend at the beautiful Griffin Gun Range makes it well worth losing an hour of sleep. Thanks for setting up our event, Mechanic. We had 5 shooters with skills ranging from new shooter to rifleman. We welcomed Nephi, aka Centimeter, to our Georgia Appleseed cadre. What an awesome addition! Added bonus to the weekend was the weather - it was supposed to downpour part of each day and we just got a light rain for a few hours on Sunday until after we put just about everything in the cars - then the deluge started. Perfect timing.
We had a very high shooter to instructor ratio, so we flew through our material, managing to get in a ton of exercises and 5 AQTs. Our newest shooter soaked everything up like a sponge. Her and Davis' AQTs improved by about 50% each. Lacey just barely missed a rifleman score with a 207!!! The stars just didn't align. Each AQT had some stage that just barely kept her from that coveted patch. She improved by over 20% though from the first AQT to her highest one. Nephi got to shoot a couple of AQTs and requalified. Rory was just there for the first day and also did very well. Congratulations to everyone!
