Title: Racine, WI AAR- February 28th, 2026 - KD
Post by: Ironmike on March 03, 2026, 05:50:08 PM
RCLRC in Racine County WI was again, the location of an awesome testimony to Rifleman's Spirit. Saturday morning, we started out with five hearty souls that cared not that the temperatures in Racine, Wisconsin were "not old enough to vote"(17*). But it was not really all that bad, honestly; hey there was not much wind and it got to 25* by 1:00!!! (and then the snowstorm hit). These patriots are solid!

The new COF that came out in January of this year is highly effective, as was seen already by the finish of our first AQT. We had two Riflemen who were within 2 and 3 points respectively of qualifying. So we finished our late lunch and headed out for the second AQT of our first day and noticed that... hey the wind picked up. No worries it was coming from behind us and was not going to make much if any difference! Someone said, "Hey! I saw a snowflake! Maybe we can get a highly coveted Icicle patch!?!". By the time we hit the 300 yard firing line vision was getting "blurred". By the time we hit 400, the shape of the backers and some kind of a dark blob was it. Cheery wet smiles and a few "there's always tomorrow..." and we called it a day.
Sunday showed up and left the snow out of the picture. Still cool at 26*, but we could see! A very productive day, for sure. Our friend who came over and up from Michigan (a 5-1/2 hour trip) left us at just after lunch (praying you got home safe, Jason). We were sad to see him go and hope to see him again. Told him to bring friends!
Congratulations going out to three of our attendees: one who KD qualified with a bolt rifle, nicely done Adam, one who KD qualified with iron sights on an M1A (yeah, Saturdays snow was tough on him), congratulations Kieth!, and one young man who shot KD qualification (using an LPVO) on all three AQTs that were attempted on Sunday, amazing work, Ilan O0
All in all; another glorious day in the tropics of Wisconsin.

Pictures to follow...

In Liberty,
Ironmike

I did make the long trek home safely, thank you.

I had a very enjoyable time and learned quite a bit, all of which I can't wait to apply. There will be a lot of practice, practice, practice in my future and I do look forward to coming back out to Racine for another event in the future.

Thank you all for a great weekend of training in Racine. Our group thoroughly enjoyed it and left feeling much more confident in our shooting at range and DOPE.

It was great to see the same concepts from the 25M event translate to KD.
