A small but enthusiastic group of shooters turned out for the first Appleseed event of the year at the Albuquerque City Shooting Range Park in Albuquerque NM.
The weather was unseasonably warm and the wind was light for Albuquerque.
Saturday began with Yrissari_Blacksmith delivering a great 1st strike. The 2nd & 3rd strikes benefited from the Battle Road map being hung.
With a high instructor : student ratio, the class moved quickly through the foundational elements of rifle marksmanship The first several strings of fire on the squares target were sufficient for IMC. After teaching teaching transitions, sitting, and standing, the day ended with AQTs, including a 4-minute AQT.
Sunday started with review of yesterday's material. As soon as the range allowed firing live rounds, we started with AQTs. We avoided the AQT grind by alternating AQTs with exercises. The KD presentation generated interest in attending an RKD. We even had a little red & green exercise.
